Movers broke one of my fronts...whats a good replacement?

I have the speakers from a Onkyo 9100 THX set hooked to a denon 3310CI AVR.

The movers broke one of my fronts, it still works it's just splintered along the edge and broke off the glue that holds it together.

Does onkyo sell the replacement speakers individuallly?

If not what would be a good replacement for my 2 fronts? I was looking at the polk monitor series bookshelf or tower speakers.

Thoughts?

Well you are going to want to upgrade the front 3 so they match.

What is your budget?

Polk Monitor's I would go with the Monitor 40's and a CS2 center

I dunno depends on what I get the moving company to pay me for the speakers when I file my damage claim.

I was looking at the monitor 40's or the 50's.

Didn't realize i needed to change my center channel too....is it the frequency response and THD numbers you are matching? What causes the need to replace my center as well? Not doubting you just curious on the logic behind it.

You want to timbre match the front 3....So there is no real difference in the sound coming from the front.

This way as things go left to right in the screen you will hear no difference in the tone.

This principle is just a widely known and respected methodology when setting up speakers

Monitor 40's and a CS10 center would be an easy and cheap front 3 speaker set. Newegg.com will have the best deals on that too

Not sure but I think an exact match would be the monitors and a cs1 or cs2 center if you went with the Monitor 40s I would go with the smaller cs1 center.

Yea I had planned to go with newegg anyway so thanks for the info. I will probably just do the monitor 40's and the CS1 as suggested.

I didn't think about the sound differences in the front like that and that makes a lot of sense.

Let us know how they sound when you get them if you do decide to go that direction..
