Hello,

I have been patiently waiting for D-Nice VT-30 calibration settings.
Does anyone who when he might be posting them?

Have tried reaching him but no reply.

Thank you.

He will post them when he posts them. He is a busy man, and he only does this as a service to the community. There was talk that he might not post them until after he calibrates some TVs that have the new EPROM update. In any case, they will be there when they are there. If you are in a hurry, perhaps you could schedule an appointment with him or another calibrator to come to do an in-home calibration.

THank you!

No real hurry at all.

Just was trying to get some sort of time frame.

Trying to determine if I have Fbr issue first before I have my calibrator come over.

Just wanted some settings to start off with.

I just stick to THX setting for now.

That's what I'm doing nice not really seen the FBr on my TV. I hope you don't, either, but you wise to check it out. I asked D-Nice if I should get the EPROM update before my calibration, and he said that it wasn't necessary if I didn't see FBr. For what it's worth, I'm using the THX settings (slightly tweaked using a calibration disk), and I'm happy so far. Enjoy!

Greetings:

Has anyone else downloaded the new "Firmware"
that just became available for North American TC-P55VT30 yet?
It's 20.70 Ver.

Thanks for looking
Excellent information!

Would rather not have it mounted to the wall and then find out that I have it and then have to have it removed from the wall.
Not going to be mounted anytime soon.
So I have some time.
But I am curious why D-Nice says it can be calibrated first.
If it hs the problem and new A board has to be repllaced then I have to get it calibrated again?

Thats the first thing I did after getting to 100 hours of running slides.

I've noticed that the back of the VT30 is flat, however, I also see that there are small recesses where the brackets screw into. My question is should use a spacer or not? In the instructions it seems to imply that I wont need to use a spacer because the back of the TV is flat.

I've tried 2 different USB sticks, but keep getting a duplicate "cannot read" file with the burn-in images, for every good one on my 65VT30. No hidden files. On a Mac, fwiw. I've read others have this problem - any known solution?

I'm not sure what file format these TV's recognize but it could be that it's incompatible. It may only read FAT32 and maybe your USB drive is an exFat.

There is a special procedure you have to use if you're using a Mac. You can find it on the 2001 Panasonic Settings Thread on the other forum. You might have to scroll down a few pages to find it, but the questions was asked several times on that thread, and there is a way to do it. I just don't recall what it was.

Ahh, my apologies for the re-ask... didn't find it. To the PC. Thanks.

Update: Yep, PC worked.

I don't know. I would think it is some mode setting somewhere.

And you can't activate the 96hz mode unless you're feeding the display a 24p signal at the time you try to activate it.

I did this successfully on my iMac. Download the files. Import them into Aperture (or iPhoto). Export them from there onto your USB stick. That gets rid of the odd files that won't read.

While I have not read all of the pages associate with the VT series, my vt 65" seems to ghost more than my 2010 model that was replaced with the new 2011 VT series.

I have tried the /left/right adjust in the 3d setting menu and that has helped to some extent especially on the PS3 game MotorStorm but still not satisfied.

Would the new Monster Vision glasses cut down on ghosting; grasping for straws here.

Any comments would be appreciated

From what I see in your screenshot you have it already enabled.

Since your tv is 50hz based the 24p will be shown at 100hz.

It would help if people would put their location in their signature so we know the location of the tv. This is a US site and most will be replying with this in mind

Hi
Thank you.I tried it with feeding the display a 24p signal and found 100 hz, but like whipit said my TV is for Europe and because of that I was confused with 96 hz

Thanks to Mr. Titus's encouragement,

I have Tech coming out next week.

Did say that or did I say, if you do not see FBr, there is no point is getting an A-Board repalced?

Hello D-Nice,

Nice to finally hear from you.

No you might not of said that.

I rather have this issue adressed before mounting and having calibrator come out..

Running your pre settings for two more days.

Thank you very much for all of your excellent information and support on these forms.

Most appreciated,

Mr.Panda

I think you'll find that its 96Hz just like the North American/Japanese models. 100Hz is just for 50Hz content. The reason you won't find 96Hz selectable on the panels made for PAL territories is that they do not support 48Hz and therefore there is nothing to toggle between. Its 96Hz or 60Hz (24p disabled) period.

What if I see FBr post calibration? Will an A-Board replacement affect the calibration and will it remove the existing ISF Day/Night and Custom calibration settings if I do get the A-Board replaced?

Sigh... so my less than 10 day old 65VT30 is burnt. "Cannot open file" is stuck smack-dead in the center of my screen (duplicate dummy images were opened after every good one for nearly 24 hours which displayed this message). I've ran the 20 images on the recommended settings for close to 48 hours now, with minimal improvement. It is not visible on the red and blue slides, only green and white/gray.

I've already placed a claim with Amex, who will provide $1000 if approved. So, is there any chance this will diminish further if I continue running the slides? Is Panasonic able to "repair" this (assuming panel replacement) - if so, what are we talking, cost wise? Otherwise, does anyone have any suggestions? This sucks. Thanks.
Update:

Panasonic - provided me with a number of a local repair shop, as this issue isn't covered under warranty.

Local repair shop - the repair cost wouldn't be worth it (i.e. buy another one). In fact, they haven't even done such a repair.

Sweet. At this point, I suppose I'll just keep running this for a week and live with it. Otherwise, I'll see if I can unload it (here, eBay, Craigslist, etc.). Man, this sucks.
