Thanks. I love the Marantz but I've got somebody who really wants it and keeps upping the offer so I will probably sell it soon. It does just as good with music as my Denon 3310 and I love the way it looks.
I went back and forth on getting a projector or TV. The Epson 8350 and a screen would have been about the same price as my ST30 but I just couldn't figure out a way to make it work in my room. I will get one once I have a dedicated theater room for sure.

Wow, The Marantz is getting a lot of attention. I actually sold it last week. I got an offer for 300 which is much more than I've seen it go for. I have a Denon 3311 coming this week and it should be here by Thursday. I love my 3310 but I need HDMI 1.4 so I can pass 3D from my blu-ray player. Thanks for all the comments!

Yea, I think I made out pretty good on that deal. I did have a silver marantz record player and tape player with it but I'm not even sure if they worked. He offered me 200 at first but kept uping it. I had to take 300!

I would love to have a projector buy I just couldn't figure out a way to make it work in my current setup. I really hope to have a dedicated theater room at some point in the future but for now I had to go with the Plasma. It was a nice jump going from a 40" LCD to 55" plasma so I know it would be really nice to jump to a 100" screen. Someday..

Just got a Denon 3311 last week to replace the 3310. I needed HDMI 1.4 and couldn't turn down the deal I found. I was close to buying a Yamaha 867 but I found the deal on the Denon and couldn't pass it up. MultiEQ XT rocks!

Thanks. The stand is right around 3 feet tall. I want to say 37". There is a little molding on the back so the back of the TV stand is up further than the front so that angles it down toward the seating. If it was any higher I would probably put it on the wall so I could angle it more. I only sit about 7 feet away from it so it had to be angled down some.
Luckily I didn't have to worry about which model to get. The VT was too expensive and from the reviews the GT was not worth the extra money to me. If I was going to spend more I would have gotten the 60ST30. I think the ST is amazing, especially for the price. Luckily mine didn't have the fluctuating brightness issue so I don't have to call Panasonic and have them come out and fix it. I'm not a videophile so I really don't need anything better than the ST. The VT is nice but it would be a waste for me because I probably wouldn't notice much of a difference. I'm more into audio but I had to replace my little Samsung 40. I'm hoping to have a dedicated theater room at some point so I can get a nice projector but until the ST is everything I need. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks. I would say mine are a little more than 12 inches from the center. Maybe 15 but that's just a guess. My eyes are even with the top of the stand when I lean back in the recliner. I have never noticed any loss with the Panasonic. I just like the TV up higher because it fells more like a Theater to me. My dad built that entertainment center about 15 years ago. We adjusted it when the slim TVs came out because it was way too deep. There is a 1/4" molding along the back of the entertainment center so I put the base of the TV stand on it. It's probably only 5 or more degree slant but it made a difference to me. When it was flat on the entertainment center it didn't work as well. You can see in the 4th and 5th picture that is leaning forward a little and that made all the difference for me. I thought I was going to have to get a tilting mount until I tried that.

Thanks, I spent a lot of time researching what TV to get and I'm really glad I went Plasma this time. The picture is sweet.

I just think it feels more like a movie theater to have the TV up higher. I have it slightly titled down so there is no loss in image quality. Really getting the center channel close to ear height was very important to me. Audio has always been my thing so I setup everything for the best audio quality I could get. It's also more comfortable to me when sitting back in the recliner to look up at the TV. I thought about getting a mount to angle it down more but I like the way it looks now so I will probably just keep it like it is.

Thank man. I tilted the ST30 not long after I got it and it made a big difference. Unfortunately there is not much wiggle room with the surrounds. The closet is right below the left surround and there is only about 1/4 of an inch between the top of the surround and the ceiling. I probably should have gotten the atoms but ohh well.
I had Klipsch reference before the Paradigms and they are awesome speakers.

Thanks. I just use the lamps for lighting. The light on the ceiling fan reflects off the tv so I don't use it. I have some LEDs in the tree next to the left speaker but that's about it.
