Glad you solved your problem. Maybe you should cosnider a universal remote like one of the Logitech devices. Love my Harmony One. I have 7 remotes stored that it has replaced...

Does anyone have a Wii hooked up to their D630? If so, how did you install the sensor bar on the tv. As I'm hooking it up I noticed the sensor bar sinks down and behind the clear-plastic lip that goes around the D630. Also, the sticky pads aren't as sticky as I've had my Wii hooked up to another tv for the last year. Thanks in advance.

I just put mine on the front edge of my TV stand. Are you trying to put it on top of the TV? It seems to work fine at the bottom. I didn't want to stick anything to my TV.

The sensor bar for my Wii works fine at the front edge of my stand also.

My D630 is mounted on my wall. I think I'll try sticking it to the clear plastic "lip" on top of the tv. Although, I'm going to have to buy some double-sided sticky-tape to put on the sensor-bar. Any suggestions on what kind?

OMG, just go to the store and get some. It doesn't need to have a Wii-approved label on it. Then again, you could always go to Best Buy and ask if they have "Monster" brand double-sided tape. smile.gif

Excuse me? I'm not one of those idiots who buys overpriced crap like Monster nor would I waste $$$ on "Wii-approved double-sided tape if one existed!" Maybe I should have clarified for the likes of you. Does anyone know of cheap, non Monster Brand, generic double-sided tape that won't stick like glue but hold without leaving a sticky residue on my television when I take it off? Is that better Boiler Jimmy?
Excuse me for being a dick but I don't take kindly to a smart-ass response to reasonable question.

Dewd, get a grip. If you need to attach something to the top bezel of your tv (like a Wii bar) then you're going to need something that will more than likely leave a mark if you remove it. My daughter's Samsung is wall mounted and she just laid the sensor bar up there and it works just fine. Our Wii bar is sitting on the tv stand because our tv is on a media console and not wall mounted.

Wow, Justin, lighten up. You obviously don't know a joke when you see one. I was just giving a silly answer to what I considered a silly question. After nearly 5,000 posts I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the questions we get on here, but asking about what brand of double-sided tape to buy... seriously? I think that's a first.

By the way, Monster doesn't make double-sided tape. That was also a joke. However, as Otto said, if you get tape strong enough to hold the sensor bar to the TV it will likely leave a mark when you try to remove. Double-sided tape comes in two varieties, permanent and removable. The removable probably won't be strong enough to hold the bar to the TV since some won't even hold posters to a wall. How do I know all of this? Because I went on-line and DID YOUR HOMEWORK!

Enjoy your Wii. wink.gif

How is this a silly question? Maybe it is but I didn't think so when I asked it. I'm not stupid, I know Monster doesn't make double-sided tape. I can take a joke but you're (Boiler Jim) response wasn't silly or a joke. Atleast I didn't take it that way. I apologize for being rude in my response and you'll be glad to know I figured out my little problem. Thanks for all the kind responses!

Trust me, it was meant to be a joke. I apologize for not making it more clear.

Anyone had an issue with the setting switching by themselves? No matter what the setting I chose the TV reverts to Dynamic and cool at 100% contrast ratio. Ilike the set and want to keep it but I hate the looks on Dynamic. I got the TV from Amazon @Xmas time. I can return it up to 1/31 but I'm hoping there is a fix for it.
Never had a problem with the TV switching settings on its own b
post #585 of 597
I've never had issue either. This tv does not save settings between inputs but that's the only complaint for me regarding picture settings. Call Samsung! They could have some insight. Although, they might just tell you to reset it. (Unplug for 30 seconds)
It was a simple fix after all. The TV was in Demo so I did a 182 reset and made it for home and not store. That did it and know I'm a happy camper. I really like the color on this TV and it is equal to my GT in black level to me. Didn't want to send it back because it was a one of on Amazon for $399. It has a slight imperfection on corner ie a small crack on bezel. But my wife couldn't see it without me pointing to it so n o big deal and we saved at least $225 over retail new price.

Congrats on fixing it. You do know that "clear" is the only setting that works properly for motion resolution on this set? Everything, including setting it to off, will give you stutters in the picture during fast scenes and panning. Aside from that it's a great set.
Ok. So, I'm sure everyone knows about the AMP Feature not working properly on the D630 unless it's set to "Clear" but as of last week I've been having issues with stutters/judders on everything with it set to "Clear" as well. I called Samsung today to complain and they're sending out a Tech on Wed. Does anyone think this is a fixable issue (AMP)?
Did you try resetting the TV's microprocessor as per the manual?

I leave AMP on CLEAR unless I want to play with the soap opera effect for a few minutes. No stutter/judder on CLEAR for me.

I've had this TV since September and no issues on CLEAR until last week. It's not as bad as SMOOTH, STANDARD, or OFF but it does experience the judder/stutter every now and again. It's very hard for me to reset the TV since I have an enormous entertainment center that's very heavy and would take two people just to move for me to reach the plug. I'll just wait and see what the Tech has to say about the issue. Thanks for the info.

I don't have the manual handy, but there might be a pushbutton way to reset.

I was wondering if anyone had posted a screen calibration settings recommendation
including 10 point white balance and user defined color space?

Thank-you so much, this is exactly what I needed.

^^
You're welcome Todd. I did find, though, that some of the basic settings (contrast, brightness, color saturation) needed a little tweaking to look right with the Spears and Munsil calibration disc--and that yielded better results for BluRay than the CNET settings alone.

I just got my main board replaced today by Samsung Tech. No more judder/stutter on AMP, (Smooth, Standard, Clear, or Off). Tech told me that the new main board was an updated version, didn't know anymore than that. I haven't noticed any juddering at all on Smooth. I usually keep on Standard and looks great so far. Complain to Samsung and they will replace it.

Update: Motion Resolution is bad on HGTV, TBS, and Sitcoms. Film-based is good with no judder/stutter. Before main-board was replaced I experienced judder/stutter on everything. I had Samsung ES8000 and Sony HX950 over the wknd that we were testing out but ended up doing returns on both (long story). Both sets experienced the same judder/stutter on HGTV. That channel sucks! So far I've tested various premium channels like HBO, Cinemax, ESPN, and Disney with no obvious judder. I do notice when my DIrectv Guide or channel banner is displayed on screen with AMP on Standard, the picture judders a little but not even close to what it was before.
