sorry, looks like I'm a bit slow today.
Cosmetic pb.Happens once after a reboot (XP SP3).

OK, 2408 is now on the Cyberlink site.
I have windows 7 64 intel and the PowerDVD 11 will not play blu-rays
It can play video files from my hard drive but not blu-ray discs

I already did the 2408 patch; still does not work

when I play a blu-ray disc; it shows disc loading and then the black screen

can someone please post the solution to this if they have it ?
detroit,
You do have the "ultimate"version, right?
yes the ultra version 11.2408
I also had PowerDVD 9 on my computer working fine and then I got 11 ultra ; the 11 ultra will not play blu-ray; you just get a black screen and now the powerdvd 9 won't play blu-ray either. the 9 was working fine until now; now it says something like cannot support playback
this is ridiculous; you add 1 software and it doesn't work and then it screws up the working software as well
cyberlink seems to have problems with their software
post #162 of 261
Im evaluating the trial currently. How do I tell powerdvd 11 to use its own matroska demuxer in WMC? I use WMC and dont want to use the powerdvd 11 menus for playback.

Thinking you are having an HDMI handshake issue. I run AnyDVD HD to avoid this sort of stuff.
I have not made any changes in my desktop computer so this doesn't make sense. the 9 was working before installing the 11 and now the 9 won't play blu-ray either
I blame Cyberlink for this. I also have the same issue on my laptop; I had 9 working and now after putting in 11; neither can play. lucking on the HP laptop, it came with the HP software to play blu-ray so I can use that
I hope someone can post some steps to fix this
post #165 of 261
I also installed a trial of windvd to play blu-ray and it works on that same computer
so this has to be the cyberlink power dvd's fault for sure
post #166 of 261
my PowerDVD 11 Ultra running well with Windows7 Ultimate 64bit OS.

Problem:
When I play HD movie file (x264 mkv) with Chinese subtitle (all format), the subtitle is not display correctly but some weird symbols.
I think this must be language coding error/problem.

Please help.
did anyone have any luck with fixing the powerdvd 11 blu-ray problem?
I still can't play blu-ray on both laptop and desktop after installing powerdvd 11 and now the older powerdvd 9 won't play blu-ray either on both computers
post #168 of 261
I purchased PDVD 11 Ultra, the day before. (updated to 2408.53 patch later). I have a 550 Ti and a Panny 42 inches. I gave it a go with WHQL or beta nVidia drivers, single or multiple displays, different cables and configurations.

I haven't got any 3D at all, in my case.

Any ideas?

EDIT: BTW, I'm able to watch 3D over SSIF files with Stereoscopic Player in any configuration.

May be a flash issue - uninstall and re-install the latest flash player. That has been a cure for some playback problems.
no change after installing the flash player; when I put in a blu-ray, the power dvd 11 pops up and starts but then you just get a black screen; then green; then black and it does nothing
this is ridiculous; I sent cyberlink this problem and all they ask for is the serial number, etc; all nonsense since I told them I have 11 trial and powerdvd 9 full on my computer and now neither of them will play blu-ray
this company has no clue how to fix this; why would anyone want to buy their product
I had 9 working perfectly until I installed 11; now nothing works

I gave it a go with an Ati 6850 today. Nothing has change: 3D doesn't work with PDVD 11. (while it works for TMT 3 and SP).

Is anybody who makes 3D work with PDVD 11?
I'm using the trial version with an ati 6850 and 3d works fine. I did have to make a change in catalyst in the pixel section (from rgb to ycbr 4:4:4).

Selecting YcbCr444 on nVidia, didn't fix the issue.

Now I'm with the Ati card, but I can't find "Ycbr 4:4:4:" option on "desktop color" of catalyst?

EDIT: I found "pixel format" option and applied "YCbCr 4:4:4", but it didn't work for me.
Anyone have a best guess how long the 50% sale on Ultra will last? Hopefully at least until New Years, so that I can give the trial a few more days.

Also, what's the deal with the iPhone remote app? It doesn't see my HTPC, and there seems to be no way to input the 4-digit code I see in the main program.

You might want to check HW acceleration if it's not ticked sometimes PDVD go's into hissy fits and you have to manually hit the play button. I'm using 2408.53 with no issues so far.

3D is working with the latest patch along with BD playback this with both .iso and discs. Using HD 6850 11.4's.
Another question: I'm getting a lot of "unsupported disc" messages when launching BR ISOs (full rips). I know the trial doesn't have the H.264/VC-1 filters, but with a GT-430 handling the HA, this shouldn't be a limitation, should it? These titles play fine in TMT5.

Do you mean, PDVD doesn't work with the latest drivers? (I use 11.11.).

I miss CyberlinkUSA. Nobody here anymore who represents Cyberlink?
in my case the PDVD 11 screwed up both my computers and will not play blu-ray on either
it screwed up my PDVD9 which was playing blu-ray fine until after putting in 11
I think I have way more chance of getting this fixed from this forum than to ask the people at Cyberlink. they seem useless; they ask the same questions every time; and then they don't fix anything
post #180 of 261
detroit1, uninstall 9 and 11 and reinstall 11 back. PowerDVD 11 locks everything IMHO. (I hope; you can watch 2D Blu-Rays, at least.)
