What would it take for xxx manufacturer's RPTVs to do 720p?

I know Apex Digital, Dwin, Elitevision, Madrigal, Zenith and a whole slew of FPTV and direct view manufacturer's offers models that do 480p/720p/1080i, why would'nt all HDTV manufacturers not include the same?

Is it a cost issue with the type of doubler necessary to do 720p or what?

720p requires higher frequencies & greater bandwidth for the electronics - cost issue.

Specifically, the horizontal sweep (scan) frequency is higher. 'has a significant effect on cost.
