Also, 50% off Coupons are not all that frequent, and certainly not so much that they are available when the majority of DIY'ers need them.
I am not saying the SY is not good, just that the JF is better quality and yes double the regular price. Those 50% coupons are fairly often and if planing in advance could be used to get all your need for a project. and if you put yourself on the mailing list even more often.
JA also has 27.99 a yard velvet.. and yeah, you would not want to use that to wrap a frame with, but boy is it soft!
The 14.99 is not so heavy it could not be used to wrap, it just has slightly thicker velvet, a better backing and does not fall apart as easy (put gaffers tape on velvet side then remove). It also does not wrinkle and crease as much as the SY.. These differences are not all the noticeable if you just pick up 2 scraps and compare, it is after working with for a couple of days you realize the differences.
If you need 15 yards in one piece, than SY is the place as JA's bolts are only 10 yards max if uncut.
