Can the 8700UB be too bright?

I am looking at the 8700UB and punched in my numbers to the projector central calculator. 12.6' throw, 110" diagonal screen (thinking SMX or Seymour AT, 1.2) and the calculator said the image brightness is 39FL. This is much higher than any other projector I have entered in. Is this too bright? It's a media room that is not completely light controlled so I know the brightness will be helpful.

What do you think?

I wouldn't worry about it. Once configured for best mode viewing the 8700 isn't exactly a light cannon, projectorreviews.com rated it just shy of 500 lumens.
That's about average. There's nothing wrong with having extra when you need it though. You can kick it up to dynamic mode for sports if need be.

Projectors can never be too bright. Rather have that problem than not have enough brightness.
