TrueHD audio while mantaining a nVidia Card

Thread Starter
I'm aware that the only card that is capable of passtrought bitstream audio are the Ati 5xxx "unless something had changed". But is there any other possible way to passtrought bitstream to a receiver and use an nVidia card? I'd like to mantain the nVidia card for the 3D Vision kit but i also want to hear TrueHD or DTS HD audio.

Yes, Nvidia has video cards with a PAP.
Unlike ATI though, only a select few Nvidia cards have a PAP.
You will need to check Nvidia's site and/or renethx's guide for the list.

Something has changed... Ati, nvidia, and intel i series gpus can bitstream TrueHD and DTS HD. It depends on the exact card, but in general the nvidia 4xx and up cards can bitstream. I have an nvidia gt 430 and it works very well.

We are using a Eva 470 with a 40 feet Atlona 1.4 HDMI. PDVD 11 reports "DTS HDMaster" but also reports on the next line "compressed". Onkyo 886 shows DTS but no indication of HD Master. Tried 5 newer BDs with same result. Audio data rate ranges from 1500k to 5000k bps. All of the settings have been checked & rechecked.
Anyone have an idea why no TrueAudio or DTSMA?
thanks, hibo

Suggest you check to see if the Atlona is correctly reporting TrueHD capability to Windows

DTS HD and TrueHD are both compressed formats.

I believe the 470 can't bitstream HD audio. Only the 430 - 465 & the 560 down in the 5xx series nvidia cards can bitstream HD audio. lpcm should be fine though
