I know. The DIGI piece is expensive and multiple Global Cache boxes are a much better value.
You know, with my RTI remote, I got 8 adapters included. So that's what I am using. However, these RJ-45/serial adapters sell for $2 - $3 (you set up the pins) or $6- $9 ready to go...
iRule is really coming along. I imagine at CEDIA there will be many new iPad remotes but I find it hard to believe any will be as cost effective. BUt if you have many serial components, it is more costly to set up (but still far, far less than RTI, Crestron, URC, etc).
