I need some help... My 13yr. son keeps bugging me to get him a what he is calling a "pico" or really small projector to use with his PSP while traveling or in his room upstairs...

I have no idea where or what to get... please help if you could provide some kind of info or links about the projector that would be really helpful... i not very technologically inclined... (i could hardly get this post up here LOL)

A buddie of mine has the Acer K11 led projector. You can find it for a little under $400. It's great for video games and movies.

It's led so the light won't burn out. Most projectors have a bulb that is rated for 2000 hours or so and it's usually $100+ to replace when it goes out.

Another option would be to buy a older used projector, maybe someone on here could give you some suggestions.

I really only want to spend around $100-200 (but could do 300.00)it does not have to be HD or anything the real FACTOR is battery power... He said he does not want it to replace our TV just something fun and portable...?

those other two projectors made by acer and vivitek look nice...but am i correct in saying they have to be plugged in? I need it to be battery powered so that it can be used in the car or at the doctors office... or whatever random place we are in that he is being bored to death in...

good to know! he seems to be pretty sold on this whole "MOM! it would be sooooo cool to have it fit in my pocket! " thing... im not to sure he will care if it has to be dark...

i know most of you seem to enjoy the more powerful projectors... so i am really sorry if this is annoying you but even if the quality is not that good he REALLY wants a tiny one... anyone have any ideas?

Based on what your intended use is, I know of none that wil fit the bill .. as well, there are many cool gadgets that hold a 13 year olds interest for 5 minutes ..

Go to any office supply company such as Staples or Office Depot .. they will likely have something in stock you can actually demo ..

The units you are talking about are designed for traveling video presentations mainly used by marketing types in conjunction with a laptop ..

If I were you, I would look into video eyewear ..

For under $200 there is the Optoma PT100 LED Gaming Projector, it only has vga and red white and yellow inputs though. There are 50+ reviews of it on Amazon.
