I haven't used any of the other combos that Larry so nicely summarized so there might be better alternatives but the display2 + HCFR software found here is the best low cost calibration solution IMO. i1Match is used to calibrate white balance and gamma for your laptop display.

I searched around for the shortcomings and tradeoffs of the 2011 3D LED's, can someone who has experienced both give me advice on potentially switching to a D8000 LED? I'm looking at the Elite series LED LCDs now if that helps.

Although to be honest if Samsung releases firmware that fixes it before I pickup the Elite I'd run out today and get another D8000.
