I will be converting a garage to a media room and putting my old JBL's out there. I have a pair of ND310II's along with an N-Center and N24II's for surrounds. I have never liked the N-Center but never got around to replacing it until now. What model would you suggest to pair with my fronts? I was looking for an EC35 but can't find any on ebay or craigslist in my area. I did find one on Amazon but the guy wanted $360 (yeah right!). Are there any models current in JBL's line that would be a good match for these towers?

Go to Amazon.co and look up the BIC FH6-LCR' speaker, you can use it for center, left or right, $108 plus free shipping, I just bought 3, L-C-R. Or you can go to sounddistributors.com and look up BIC ACOUSTECH center speakers, send an e-mail saying you were refered by AVS Forum and you should receive a 15% discount.

I will look at the LC1, thank you. How do the BIC's sound compared to the JBL's? I want to try to timbre/voice match them as close as I can.

I have an LC1 and think it's a great centre and a decent step up from the N centre. The drivers in the EC35 might match your existing speakers better tho so I would keep searching for one of those at a reasonable price if you like your fronts (agree $360 is too much for a second-hand one). Personally would not mix brands between front L/R & centre if it was me.

Anybody interested in a CC 290 center channel speaker? I upgraded mine to a b&w :-)

Yikes... You are in San Diego (I am too in SD).

I just sold my 5.1 Polk Monitor series (all matching, 4 towers, center, powered sub) speakers for a base bargain price of $250 after not getting any traction for 2 weeks. You could've bought the whole setup from me :-)
