Panasonic AE4000U Zoom CIH Help

I have looked high and low for some instructions to setup CIH for 2.35:1 using Zoom .with the AE4000 ... no luck. If anyone can point me in the right direction or describe what you've done that would be great.

My primary questions are around what to expect when zooming to fit the 2.35:1 screen. First I centered for 16:9 and saved that to memory. Then zoomed out. The image does not stay centered, so I presume that I need to adjust the vertical shift. Can someone help me fill in the blanks on how to set this up.

Make sure lens height is within the screen area. It cant be below or above the border of the screen.

Yep, I have the projector on a tabletop at a height within the screen area. When I zoomed to fit the 2.35:1 screen it didn't stay centered vertically and had to compensate a lot using the v-position. Is that what I should expect?

All HT projectors optics are biased to either top or bottom pending the set up. So when you zoom you will need vertical lens shift.

That's correct. Unless your projector is aligned at the exact center of the screen, any zoom will always create vertical offset. You can use the v-position control (digital shift) to re-center, then store as one of your six available memory positions. The lens memory will store the focus, zoom, and v-positions so all of those will be adjusted automatically when you call on that memory.
