Everyone has their own expectations and hopes with what a TV should or shouldn't be able to do.
All I can say is the TV is awesome for 2D and personally I find the 3D to be quite enjoyable and very responsive. Take into consideration things like ambient lighting, TV placement and viewing angles when you are judging something like the 3D on the set. If you don't flop your head all over the place or try watching it in an area where you are going to have twenty different reflections on the screen from lights or windows then you will be perfectly fine. The active shutter glasses take a little getting used to - every time I wear them I need like a minute to get adjusted to the shutter effect which then goes away and I forget that the glasses are doing anything special.
Calibrate the TV to your preferences - everyone here is different and has different tastes. There are a lot of calibration settings which I would use as your baseline, then tweak it from there based on what you like.
Bottom line the TV is quite incredible and I think you will enjoy it thoroughly. Have fun!
