Hmmm however, I wouldn't be using the same clone though would I since I have D4's.
Yeah. I think what I'm going to do is just get the CV5000. I'll be in nearly the same position as you except I'll have two ep2500's pushing four RLp18's along with the eight SI 18's. Since I know I can rely on the CV I'll have that on backup whenever I decide to get a clone amp.
Sounds good to me especially since you are getting such damn fine results in your much larger room with what will be less amount of drivers and power. Yikes. I might have a problem.
Pretty sure it's alignment dependant on the 'hurting an SI with one of these clones'. I have two in 8cuft and with full peak power of 2,200w
to each driver they are just hitting 30mm Xmax and they have been DUMAX confirmed to have an Xmech of 36mm. Don't run sine waves all night or super loud compressed music and there should never be an issue.
That's the least of my problems with the clones. The problem lies in that they have loud ass fans that look(ed) hard to replace, unreliability issues (huge problem for me) and.... well, I want three of them. I can't afford that. Edited by Scott Simonian - 4/3/13 at 11:37am
