Hope all is well with you!!! Anything new on your side?
My apology for the above graph...It didn't look right and felt like something was wrong!
I redid the whole test and got this result this time...not sure why the first time it screwed up like that!
I'm still puzzled why more power equals LESS output!
Red graph is:
Channel 1 connected to 2x FTW21's at 8 ohm (1,350W)
Channel 2 connected to 2x SI18's at 2 ohm (yes that's right @ 2ohms) (2,500W)
Channel 3 connected to 2x SI18's at 2 ohm (yes that's right @ 2ohms) (2,500W)
Channel 4 connected to 2x FTW21's at 8 ohm (1,350W)
Blue Graph is:
Channel 1+2 bridged connected to 2x FTW21's at 8 ohm (4,200W)
Channel 3+4 bridged connected to 4x SI18's at 4 ohm (5,000W)
EP4000 bridged connected to 2x FTW21's at 8 ohm (1,300W)
Red graph has a total output of 7,700W
Blue graph has a total output of 10,500W
Why would I have LESS output with more power?
I did not change anything in my knobs on the amp nor did I touch the MiniDSP
Despite sending more power to my subs...The end result is less output?
Can someone please explain what's happening here?
I've played numerous songs and heavy bass movie scenes and the biggest difference is at high volume, I cannot get the amps to clip!
I guess that's a good thing!
Anyways, I've been blasting it in bridge mode to see what the FP10000Q would do with having my channel 3+4 bridged connected to a 4 ohm load while channel 1+2 bridged connected to a 8 ohm load.
Am/Was afraid that it would blow my amp cause it's been said many times here NOT to connect to a 2 ohm source or 4 ohm bridged.
My FP10000Q on bridged mode with a 4 ohm load is not giving me any problems at all.
I went outside for over an hour to rake leaves while leaving everything at -5 volume playing very heavy bass music and when I came back the amp wasn't even that warm to the touch!
I've blasted the OHF monument scene so many times...despite the fan speed going nuts, actually hearing the power being sucked off...it always played the scene fine.
Thank God my family wasn't home.
I'm going to leave it connected this way for awhile just to see if she blows! I sure hope not!
After reading Bosso running his like that for 3 1/2 years, I said to myself...meh, why not
