How's that?

The vast majority of PS are open loop/unregulated; seems to me that less voltage means less current, plain and simple.

Forgot to mention about fans that an alternative that doesn't require messing with the fans (other than to disconnect them) may be a long skinny squirrel cage fan like those used to cool some computer equipment, and used for fireplace blowers like this

I have some 80mm fans in there that are nice and quiet, waiting on the 60s. I have two different types of fans coming to see which work best. one will be a tight fit but should be a bit quieter.

One is 27db and 17.1cfm, the other is 24db and 14.5cfm. The original is like 19cfm and 32db.

The 80mms are 21db 24cfm, and are the same ones people use in EP2500s. The originals are unknown, can't even look them up. Yihuakeji hf0824ehb-b25.

Total CFM through the unit should be either 71cfm or 76cfm depending on which 60mm works better. I'll be running it side by side with a stock cooled unit and recording temperatures with a probe. These aren't exactly running in a rough environment with open air and climate control. I don't imagine they'll have too much trouble dissipating the heat, but who knows. I'll work on it until I get a quiet solution.

No, but they are nearly twice as efficient as toroidal supply units. Also, they can work with a wider range of voltage input and function properly.

These units WILL pull a steady 30a a piece if pushed. Very scary with even one enclosure on I'm seriously amazed at the output from these, and it's not like I was using small amps to start with.

I just spoke with them over the phone.

He recommended 1 x FP10000Q for 4 way amplification or the 2x FP9000 for subs.

Recommended the P1800 4 way @ 450x4 @ 8 ohms. Thats to drive my mains and surrounds. Price is 335$


I'm debating which amps to get... Service seemed 'ok (less then good/happy)', and I spoke to him in Chinese. Not super 'happy', but whatever...

If blu rays didn't take an age to come out then I would buy more blu rays. I think films should come out so that they are viewable to watch at home for a one off payment. Say £5-10 per film.

That means you don't have to get ripped off watching the film at the cinema and also get ripped off paying stupid prices for a large coke and popcorn. When will they get it in their thick skulls that people are now investing in HT rooms at home and start doing this service instead.

It cost me about £75 to take the whole family to see one film. Where's the justice in that!

Ive even watched films before they have come on the cinema. Screw the cinemas.

You're right. However I've seen it and measured it...without full understanding because of how elusively fast it occurs, and inconsistencies in predictability. At the time, I attributed it to the totality of the "circuit" that was presented across the source.

That's pretty impressive.

Guys, I don't think this is the thread to get into the morality/amorality of amps like these. I'm not saying there aren't issues to be considered. Not laid this thread out in black and white and I think it should stay that way.

I not pretending to tell anyone what to do, just my 2c.

When I first joined this site, single and twin 15" LLT's (tc2k or SDX-15) with a single EP2500 was about standard. Now I'm seeing the progression to multiple 15's and 18's, sealed, with enough amperage that folks are installing more than one dedicated line.

Dollars. I'm placing an order since people don't want to deal directly or wire money or risk getting a bad amp, so I'm handling everything and removing the risk from the equation. It will cost more, but people will at least get a working amp out of the deal. I have quite the order going together now.

I was looking at the FP10000Q @ 1350x4 and the P1800 4 way @ 450x4 @ 8 ohms.

The FP1400 is far too powerful for my needs and the FP10000Q is closer (still more power than I need, but...). The one I have questions about is the P1800, do you have any idea what the design is based on? It's a class H and the P1200 (which would have sufficient power) is class AB, if the P1800 is well designed it could work well with the mains and surrounds. My concern is that poorly designed class H amps can be fairly problematic, whereas class AB amps are not that complicated (comparatively speaking). Does anyone have any insights into Sanway's P1800?

8 years ago I built my first 2x15" dual opposed sealed sub. Almost immediately I built a 4 x Tumult system with around 5kw of power. Right about the time you joined in '06 I upped my system to 8-Tumults and 12kw of power, so not everyone is just figuring it out.

The amplifiers have been the bane of my existence for 10 years. I used to have to run an amp for each driver. Finally, there are amps that reach to the bottom of the LFE channel and with enough snuff to forget about clipping.

Nothing to stop anyone now.

LTD... the Chinese have pegged their currency to the dollar. It's 1 to 1 and doesn't fluctuate. A big bone of contention to many, but that's how it's been and is currently.
