The "Standby Source" (p. 62) is set to the HDMI jack number the cable box is plugged in to (eg. HDMI3).

Are the Zone 2 speakers connected to the Surr Back/Amp Assign speaker posts?

It's been a while since I posted here, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate batpig's formatting of the first page. Having an FAQ repository/model differentiation/firmware tracking info (amongst other things!) up top at the beginning of the page is AMAZING. I wish all the threads for my products did that.

So, this is just to say, I salute you guys (you too jdsmoothie and the other frequent responders)!

Thanks. Yes, I've put a lot of time into posts #3-6 on page 1 for sure, especially formatting of the FAQ in post #3.

Yes these boys should be on the Denon payroll. Any Denon Execs out there?

Indeed- this thread and its creators/maintainers/contributors are one reason I went with the Denon over the competition. Who needs in-house support when you have something like this?

I reported a couple weeks ago that my volume would no longer display on the TV. Further to that, I discovered, none of the gui would display on the TV. I fixed the problem by unplugging my receiver (2312) and plugging it back in. Since then this has happend 3 times (and again tonight). So what I thought was a one time glitch seems to be a persistent problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? I often use the web based interface to control the system remotely. I don't know why that would cause a problem but thought it would be worht mentioning. Any recomendations?

Did you also make the proper Front B speaker setup for either Stereo or Multi Ch audio as noted on p. 88?

Well I've been experiencing the same problem when listen to net radio the on screen control don't show up, my ps3 does not display either as well as gui. The only thing that displays is my xbox360, this start after the latest up date for my 3312AVR. I changed out my TV an older Panasonic for a newer Sony Bravia everything seem to work fine now just wonder if with update my older TV was no longer compatible with system

I'm having a small issue, the 2112 does not like it when I turn it on by the remote using any of source buttons the unit will freeze and I have to turn it off to unfreeze it. If I use the "on" button from the remote it's ok. Any ideas?

With any minor issues, the best thing to do is simply to unplug the AVR for a few minutes.

Ideally it's not a regular occurrence.

This could be unrelated, but I've occasionally experienced the same issue since I replaced my TiVo Series 3 this week with the Series 4 (Premiere Elite), which offers an HD GUI. I haven't had enough time to pinpoint the exact cause yet, but sometimes I notice that the Denon GUI will not display over the TiVo video signal. In my case I have found a simple solution to be just hitting the source button again (I'm using a Quick Set for the TiVo connected to the sat/cbl HDMI input), which always resolves the problem leading me to believe that there is an occasional handshake issue relating to the HD GUI.

Even if your issue is unrelated, you might try simply reselecting the source, which at any rate is a lot less hassle than unplugging the AVR.

Quick question regarding the vTuner. I go over to radiodenon.com and enter my MAC address and I get an error saying that it doesn't recognize the MAC address so I can't register. I have everything connected correctly and I am getting music, however I cannot customize my own stations because I can't login to the site. Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: Disabled UPnP mode on my Linksys router and all is well.

I purchased a Denon 3312CI based LARGELY on the support batpig and jdsmoothie have offered. There knowledge and open sourced help is what swung me to Denon rather than the competing Sony, Onkyo, and Yamaha choices.

Hey, Denon, I gave you my money because of these guys. Show 'em some love for cryin' out loud.

Thanks guys.

Maybe you might know what I am having a problem with. I thought I was having a problem with one of my new surround speakers, but maybe not. It is making a noise in the port, mostly with deeper bass and when the port is exhausting air. I changed up speakers to that channel and now the same noise with a different speaker. The problem channel is the left side surround. Also I have noticed when I turn the volume up with the remote, I can hear a funny staticy noise as the numbers start climbing, it is pretty harsh. Ever hear anything like these issues? Easy fix? Thanks man.

Thanks chi_guy50 - I'll give that a shot next time it happens. It's always when watching something through the AVR like either DirecTV or WD TV.

Unhook a speaker from the back of the avr that is okay and then plug in to your left sur. post carefully making sure it's not touching themselves or another post. If the stadicky noice follows the speaker you probably have a bad amp.

If it's still stadicky unhook and see if it sound okay without that speaker hooked up. After you tested and are sure that amp is failing try a mico reset. If still no joy give Denon a call as you will probably need service.

These guys also sealed my decision. I have an older Onkyo 805 and needed a more contemporary receiver. Almost got an 809 - but a great deal with some United Mileage points and the nice folks at Brainstormers finalized it!
Got a 3312 and love it!
But, the research on this group was the key decision.

+10000 for Batpig, Jdsmoothie, and others. They have provided outstanding support for years and made life easier for all of us Denon fans. Thanks guys!

Where do I change the Dynamic Volume (to Day, Evening, etc.)?

i would do what spager suggested... also, make REAL sure you don't have a speaker wire shorting, all it can take is one strand...

too bad i didn't see this earlier, i was in your neck of the woods this afternoon, i could have helped you troubleshoot...

i'll take that... but it's jd and batpig who do all the heavy lifting... i just have a "sticky brain" when it comes to a/v stuff...

Just curious - what is the pre-out voltage of the AVR-3312ci?
So I got tired of needing to use multiple remotes and finally bought a Harmony remote (the 650 is one sale this weekend at various retailers and is in my budget.)

My set-up has some handshake issues, which can be resolved by turning on my AVR after turning on the relevant input devices (TV, Blu Ray, XBox etc.)

I can't figure out how to configure the power-on delay for the AVR into my activity commands. I increased the power-on delay setting for the AVR by following the instruction here: http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/...0%2F700-remote

I increased it first from 1.5 sec to 3 sec, and then to 5 sec, but there's no perceptible difference in the start-up time. Suggestions?

EDIT: I now realize that "power-up delay" only delays commands sent to *that* device. Not sure what I need to do here.
