I recently purchased a 2112CI and have it connected to a JVC HD-DLA, DirecTV and a PS3. Upon set up I had no issues and was even getting 7.1 sound out of the PS3 which I was excited about. After about a week I started having what I thought were HDMI handshake issues, but only with the PS3. I followed advice in this thread on how to reset the HDMI on the PS3 and the order in which to turn on the components to minimize this issue.
Things worked well for another week until the power went out overnight for about a minute. When I attempted to use my PS3 it wouldn't recognize the HDMI and I just had a black screen. I tried to hook the PS3 directly to the TV and reset the signal and still had no luck. I tried the PS3 on another tv with HDMI and it worked just fine. I'm thinking the issue is with the tv, but the DirecTV works fine in all 6 inputs on the 2112CI and the PS3 is not recognized in any. I gave up today after trying 5 or 6 different HDMI cables I had at the house and picked up a component cable for the PS3. Hooked directly to the TV it works just fine, unlike the HDMI, however, hooked to the 2112CI via component I only get a full green screen. Last but not least, when I use the component cables with my TV and the HDMI from the PS3 to the 2112CI, it runs the sounds in 7.1 with no issues. Why can I not use my HDMI through the 2112 for my PS3 anymore when other HDMI works just fine? Why do I get a green screen when I try to connect my PS3 with component cables through the 2112, but perfect picture through the tv? Why does the sound work from the PS3 to the 2112CI but not video? I have tried everything I know and will use the set up of component through the tv and audio through the 2112, but I really wanted it all running through one system to minimize remotes, etc. Can anyone shed any light on why this connection is failing? |

keep at it!
