Mike, sounds great. Thanks for the comments. It sounds like you've not had any issues with the Net/USB mode display!

Greg,
Only issue so far is if I try to move too fast through lists with the up/down buttons, the avr will lock up. Easy to fix by unplugging the power cord for a few secs.
Mike
Yes the bell receiver is set to Dolby DigitalPCM. The 1712 in the input and decode mode is set to auto.
Cannot figure out why there is no sound when the input signal is ana stereo.
Hi allan_37, does it video? Most likely a HDMI handshake ... try turning off tv, receiver and bell receiver. Cycle on in this order: tv, receiver and then bell receiver (give a few seconds in between).
Do you have Dolby Digital/PCM selected in the System Setup menue on your Bell receiver?
Also on the avr side in the Input Setup go to Input mode and Decode mode and make sure they are set to Auto.

Here is my story sad but true. I also purchased 2112ci and actually had a friend of mine do the same. We all have the same problem with display. So after numerous calls to Denon I got no where they actually were surprised that anything was wrong. I don't believe that. Worst customer service responses I have ever heard. Anyway after reading this forums I decided to take both units back to a Denon authorized repair center 15 miles away. Both units went in on 12/28 and they said they knew the exact problem. Defective HDMI card. They replaced the cards in both units and we picked up the units on 1/20. Surprise the units are still not working properly. HDMI off as you stated can resolve it so far who knows? tomorrow when I turn the unit on it may be a different story. Denon has gotta know this is a problem and they are not responding. I can't return the unit. I can't afford to buy I new one. So I beg everyone who has this unit to report it to Denon and maybe they will come up with fix. Another option is if all of us could meet in front of Denon headquarters we could toss all the unit through there front windows.
After four xx12 avrs I feel your pain. I have just about two weeks left before my 30 day return is up on my 2112ci [ 4th avr with missing net/usb] and I don't have a clue on what to do. I was hoping it was just a firmware thing and had decided to just live with it until I read jd's post. 701.00 bucks and I would like the thing to working right. Four calls to Denon and they are no help what so ever. You would think they could ship me a tested working unit, they said they are aware of the issue but have no idea whats causing it and took down my phone no# and email and would call if they figued it out, So if anybody knows where I can order a WORKING 2112 from let me know.
Having trouble hooking up a playstation 2 to my Denon 1312. Can get audio to work, but video not showing up.
Would appreciate any advice to solve problem.
Thanks!
Hi ebs33, ccotenj already responded to your other post. The 1312 can not convert analog video to HDMI out. Connect a yellow RCA cable from receiver "Monitor" out to tv.
Looking at getting the 3312 but have a quick question. With it having two HDMI outs can I have one TV hooked up to play audio through speakers hooked up to receiver and a secondary TV hooked up and play audio through internal TV speakers. I see an option for HDMI Audio pass through but wasn't sure if it was HDMI Out specific.
No, the "HDMI Audio Out" setting can be set to either the TV or the AMP and applies to both HDMI outputs.
One way to do what you describe is to get a 4x2 HDMI switch.
I have a 1612, Panasonic ST30 and Fios Cisco DVR. I want to control the AVR volume with the Fios remote but can't get the remote to do anything with the amp.
Form the Denon docs it appears that HDMI control of the TV volume should control the amp volume. I have made all the settings and I can't get it to work. If I turn the TV off, everything else turns off, but that is it.
The Fios box may not be HDMI-control enabled, I see no menu choice for it.
Try looking below the volume down button. Look for the ch/level button on your remote.
ADD: Make sure you hit the amp button first to engaged the amp remote codes.
Spager, thank you very much. I knew it must be easy. The manuals for Denon pretty much suck and I tried there before posting. Thanks for answering this.
Hello friends I come to you because I have the ability to switch receiver and speakers for them and thought the title referred to the receiver and some speakers to start Jbl L820 series and also from JBL LC2 center. My question is that we feel should I buy I like both the 809 onkyo discard one because it does not handle air and I play good thoughts about this application.
I currently hold an OPPO bluray bd83, a slim xbox 360, a ps3, a cable box hd and also connect my pc and my mac book pro to the receiver, I come from a complete package of the 7100 onkyo at the moment which I leave rear speakers and sub as they may end up completing the set of JBL L880 and the sub of the same series.
Also tell them that I have a shared area in the future the idea is to leave it engaged. For the type of accessories should know that I will use things for movies, video games, while the side that also want it for music.
The JBL's chosen after having heard and I think are very good the receiver if I have not had the chance and the only thing that I am leading is for reviews of them.
I appreciate your cooperation as very pornto comprare the receiver, the l820-center

If you are looking to compare features and such check out page 1 of this forum for all the details of the Denon 12 series avr's.
^^
Your English is difficult to comprehend; spager is simply advising that you would be better served reviewing post #2 to see the differences between the various models and then once having compared them, you will have a better idea of which model you would prefer. This should also help you to identify what specific features you would like in an AVR in addition to the few you have listed.

Excuse my English please.
I'm torn between the Denon 3312 and Marantz 6006 and I know someone who can advise

Both of these models offer for the most part the same features and have identical components for the most part (as seen by a recent picture on the 6006 thread) ... choose the one that provides all of the features you want and also looks nice to you. Ideally try to demo them at a hi fi store to determine if you prefer one over the other ... this is not something that anyone can tell you, rather you must decide for yourself. It's like me showing you a chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter cookie and me telling you I prefer the chocolate chip over the peanut butter ... you may prefer the peanut butter instead ... so again, only you can decide which AVR you prefer.

Thanks for replying only now in my country I could see the Denon 3312 but I draw much attention of the Marantz and so I wanted to ask in this forum
^^
You would likely enjoy either one ... at the very least demo the 3312CI. However, note that based on the feature requirements you listed you may not require the 3312CI, rather the 2112CI might just as easily meet your requirements for less money.

I thought in 3312 or 6006 because I want to connect
Oppo Bluray 83
Play Station 3
Xbox 360
Motorola DCX3400 Decoder
PC for HDMI
Mac Book Pro for HDMI
and soon a WDTV
I just bought a AVR-2112CI - it's replacing a well-worn NAD 7100, and is my 1st AVR.
System config as follows: SA 4250HD ------> AVR HDMI3 input
Apple TV -------> AVR HDMI2 input
Panasonic DVD --> AVR Component In + Optical audio
AVR HDMI Out ----> Sony Bravia HDMI1 input
I also have a 4-bay UHF antenna connected to the Sony's tuner input to receive OTA broadcast TV. Therefore, I need to get the TV tuner sound from the Bravia back to the 2112. The problem I've encountered is that the only choices offered for the 2112's TV input are optical and coax.
The single optical input on the 2112 is already occupied by the optical audio from the DVD player. The Panasonic only offers optical and stereo RCA outputs.
The Bravia is a 2010 model with HDMI 1.3, so I can't use Audio Return Channel.
I had assumed that I could simply connect the Bravia's stereo audio output to a free audio input on the 2112 with a red/white audio cable. But I can't find any way to map an analog input to the TV source on the 2112. The only choices provided by the Setup Wizard are optical and coax.
So far, I've devised these possible 'solutions':
- connect the Bravia's audio output to the BD input on the 2112. Alas, this fails the all-important WAF test. When one wants to watch TV, it's logical she'll press the button on the remote labeled "TV".
- buy an external optical-to-coax converter, and use it to convert the optical output on the Bravia into S/PDIF that can feed the 2112's coax input.
(will this even work? Does the 2112 treat the optical and coax inputs as two independent mappable inputs?)
- return the 2112 and get an AVR with multiple optical inputs.
Have I overlooked something on the 2112 menus? I am hoping the clever gene pool here can suggest a more expedient solution.
^^
Yes, an optical to coax converter would work, although adding an optical switch would work just as well. Also note that although the optical and coax digital inputs are "assignable" to other source names, the analog audio inputs are NOT, rather you must use the source name on the input's label. Another WAF solution is to purchase a Harmony remote.
Thanks for replying only now in my country I could see the Denon 3312 but I draw much attention of the Marantz and so I wanted to ask in this forum
They are very similar as they are made by the same parent company. Personally I like the bigger front display on the Denon that indicates most of the settings at a glance.
I thought in 3312 or 6006 because I want to connect
Oppo Bluray 83
Play Station 3
Xbox 360
Motorola DCX3400 Decoder
PC for HDMI
Mac Book Pro for HDMI
and soon a WDTV
Note that although both the 3312 and 6006 have (7) HDMI inputs, only (6) are on the back panel and (1) is on the front panel so uness you want to leave one device connected in the front all the time, a (6) HDMI AVR will work just as well. Note also that cable/sat boxes often have HDMI handshake issues with an AVR which would require connecting it directly to the TV and doing so also frees up (1) HDMI input on the AVR.
If the issue doesn't present again, it could have been resolved by the firmware update.
Were you just going to Standby mode or were you physically disconnecting power from the AVR (eg. by turning power strip off)?
I just observed that the issue re-occurred in the last couple of days. So the firmware update has not resolved it.
I normally keep the unit completely switched off when not in use. I don't physically remove the power cable; but turn the main switch off where the Power plug is connected to the wall mains. for e.g. i may keep the unit in standby during peak viewing/listening times; but switch of the main power at night and afternoon.
Would like to hear from other 1912 owners. Mine is the Singapore version; which is what gets imported in India. It has the Audyssey multEQ XT version and the input mode changing dial on the left; which is probably missing in the US version of 1912.
