I loaded the CDRom again and still can't get past pp 16 but there,s nothing after pp 12. Sorry for being so old and dumb, I'm almost 74 and computer illiterate

Try downloading the manual from Marant's website as there are 149 pages in the manual.

JD, thanks for your help but I tried Marantz for the file but I'm still lost, I'll try calling Marantz tomorrow maybe over the phone I can understand it...

Anyone have their sr6006 hooked up to a pc? what model of video card do you have that works with it?

You might want to try the CD again. If I am not mistaken, there are two manuals on the CD, A small Getting Started Manual and a large Owner's Manual.

I know that, but it doesn't have a specific model. I'm using an ati HD card and it does not work properly.

I have to get above -1.0 DB to 5.0+ to really get the power I want through them.

Issue?

So I decided to go with the SR6006 to complement my def tech 7.1 system. Hooked everything up, updated firmware, ran the set up, everything sounds great!!! a couple items of note and any suggestions would be appreciated. With my older Onkyo I seemed to get more punch out of my BP7006 built in subs now the sound is great but the punch has seemed to disappear. Currently I have the LF input of the speakers plugged into the sub line out's do I plug into the FR FL pre outs instead or do i look for a Sub to complement the system? Second item is the Airplay playing higher quality audio files they will play for about 5-10 sec then cut out. play again then cut out or not play back at all. any one have the same issue? playing inet radio and or pandora works fine (lower quality audio)
I tweaked my NIC on the PC to see if that would help but no dice. I have a airport express that is basically the same thing but external and it works with out issue. Again love the sound of this receiver with my set up just looking for the tweaks that will make it even better. Please excuse the noob talk too

Yes, seems the power/bass doesnt feel powerful until 0.0 or +. Its a 2 channel/2 tower setup. I used the mic/addesy setup.

not sure what you mean "feel powerful"? you aren't going to get overwhelming bass out of those speakers, although correct positioning might help...

take some pics of your room and post them, and let's go from there...

Im upgrading from vf36s made by klipsch. These bw's should be a massive upgrade right?

I was setting up this unit for a friend and he was losing the HDMI handshake from his Pioneer BDP 53 unit, no sound was coming through video only. This was happening on all HDMI inputs on the 6006....... I am wondering if I overlooked some setting on the SR6006. or even the Panasonic VT25 that its feeding? Has anyone else had this problem or similar?

This is my first post, I've been a member of the UK & Ireland AV forums for years but have recently moved over to Portland from Ireland so go easy on me

I have 7 B&W M1's and an ASW 675 sub that I am bringing over from Ireland, I'm leaving my Sony STR DB2000 behind as i've never really been happy with it.

The B&W's from what I have read seem to be a difficult speaker to drive, would this be correct?

My research so far has told me that in order to get the best out of them they need to be carefully paired with a receiver/amp that can drive more demanding loads. Marantz & Rotel pop up as suggestions on a few different forums.

My question is would the NR1602 be suitable for these speakers, It's for domestic use at reasonable to occasional loud volumes. I know the obvious choice is to go straight for the more powerful option but I'm on a bit of a budget and would prefer to purchase the 1602 for financial reasons if it will provide the same level of performance without the upper volume levels.

Alternatively any suggestions in the price range of around $500-$800 would be appreciated.

HDMI connections should be plug-n-play. Check the cable connections are secure. Ensure the firmware is updated on all devices. If still no joy, then reset the 6006 microprocessor as listed in the Owner's manual (p. 150).

The 1602 features FL/FR preouts so if it doesn't provide enough power, you can always add an external amp. Otherwise, you can also consider a refurb 5006 which comes with a full 1 year mfr warranty.

Although the Marantz manual recommends at least 12" clearance on all sides and the top, you want at least 3" clearance to be safe.

I just wish I didn't learn the hard way!

I purchased a SR5006 yesterday, and have a couple questions.

1) According to Marantz's website, the SR5006 does the following video up-conversion; Composite/Component to HDMI, HDMI to HDMI. But, according to everything I've read here, it simply "converts" analog to HDMI, but does not do any type of scaling. Since this is the case, I assume HDMI to HDMI conversion is nonexistent? If so, they should really fix their website.

2) Since video scaling may be nonexistent, I'm a bit concerned about this receiver's ability to output the menu via something other than HDMI. Why would I want to do this? Well, I have a projector connected to the HDMI out, and use a small 7" LCD screen connected to the composite video out for use when not using the projector. This is extremely useful when listening to music, or when browsing the network (or internet) for music. If the OSD does not work with analog output, I will be extremely disappointed, especially considering the display on this receiver. In fact, this receiver could be really frustrating for anybody who may use analog out for their primary display (I highly doubt anybody would ever buy this receiver to connect to an analog input of a TV!). My Denon AVR-1909 handles this just fine....

3) The manual doesn't really talk much about the web setup feature. In fact, I didn't even see it mentioned in the manual. Does this indeed exist? According to the specifications PDF, this does indeed exist under the network features: WEB Interface. Does the web interface allow you to not only configure the receiver, but also control the receiver? By control, I mean can you change sources, select radio stations, browse network music, connect to internet radio, etc.? If so, this would practically eliminate my need to have a secondary display, and would render my #2 concern irrelevant.

1. Video Conversion and Video Upscaling are two different processes. This simply means that an HDMI signal is passed through to HDMI (ie. no down downconversion to analog).
2. HDMI only as is also the case with the Denon XX12 AVRs without a video chip (eg. Denon 1912).
3. Web Control (p. 76).
