After I explain a few things I will tell you the BEST 3D GLASSES FOR SONY BRAVIA EX720
First of all I have been on this thread a few times trying like a lot of you I am sure to get the 3d to be better and other odd issues. I have had maybe 3 reboots or slight hiccups in the past year and half. And I run mine like 24/7 just about it lol Thank god it shuts itself off at nights. By the way I own a Sony Bravia KDL55Ex720
The first pair of 3D glasses I got where TDG-BR100 series and they were decent. Still a lot of ghosting though that made some movies/shows almost unwatchable.
The second pair of 3D glasses I got where SainSonic "Universal" 3D Infrared Active Shutter Glasses For Sony Bravia 3D HDTVs from amazon, they were the worst ever. HORRIBLE ghosting, they are collecting dust atm.
The last pair of 3D glasses I bought were PlayStation 3 3D Glasses from amazon. THE BEST EVER!! Hardly any ghosting on this tv anymore. I enjoy 3D content so much more now. So it really is in the glasses and you can tell that it shutters MUCH faster than the rest. The best part of all is I bought 2 FOR LESS THAN $40.00 on Amazon. Awesome deal and so worth it. So everyone with this tv, it's all about the glasses. BUY THESE PAIR. There might be even better ones out there but I am truely pretty content with these. I hardly see any ghosting. 3D PC gaming through this tv looks great with these glasses as well as watching 3D movies using 3DTV PLAY from Nvidia.
On the issues of rebooting, I have updated always and only had slight problems and like I said above only about 3 or 4 reboots in the 1 and a half I had it. 2D play on this tv is pretty amazing as well especially with blu-ray.
I really don't use the internet stuff much since I have a computer right beside my tv just about. It does have some nice internet software and I enjoy them when I do happen to use them.
Can't really comment on the sound as I have it ran through my audio receiver.
So really the main point of the post is, I haven't had much problems with this tv "Yet" Knock on wood lol and the best 3D glasses I have found are the PS3 3D Glasses I got from Amazon. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to try out the BR250 to compare, but I am guessing that these even beat them in performance. They are rechargeable as well. Hope this helps someone to get a better 3D experience with their Bravia 3d tv's.
The reason I am making BOLD text is I want everyone to not waste their money on these expensive pair of glasses or even cheaper ones and get horrible ghosting.
I just read DDNOOB's post about the XPAND X104, it seems they work well too. Would love to compare those with the PS3 3D glasses, cause these are about 60+bucks cheaper and I would say 80-85 percent ghosting is gone.
Not to rain on your parade but I have been running the ps3 glasses since I've owned this TV and its done nothing to eliminate the crosstalk. I own the 46" so maybe those are just more doomed than the 55" anyway. I also have 4 pairs of the BR250 which do nothing as well to eliminate crosstalk. I will say this at least, they are way more comfortable than the ps3 glasses. I own both this Sony and a Sharp active set and of all the glasses I have tried the ps3 are the least comfortable of them all. I'll pm you because I am replacing my ex720 with the r550a so I will have some extra sets of the BR250 I will be getting rid of if you want to give those a try.
Also if you are coming from the original BR100 (I think was the model #) that me be the biggest reason you are experiencing less cross talk. I remember when those were first released and Sony was giving away free polarized filters to put over the lenses, although in retrospect I think that was only because people were losing 3d when tilting their heads. I still think it shows that maybe those glasses werent completely ready for release when they were.
