Ahhh...I guess that explains that. Doesn't make sense...but it explains it. I was just sticking with the stock wand because that seemed like something a wizard would use...why would I even think equipping a sword would do anything for my spells? I also tried out the monk, and noticed I did a lot more damage dual wielding the knuckles and a sword. I'm running around holding a sword, but then I punch people with my bare hands, yet somehow the sword makes me do more damage?
I'm assuming there comes a point where you'll start finding items tailored to your class more frequently, where you wouldn't need to do something silly like equip a mage with a broadsword to make spells better, cause the staff is more attuned to what you need?
Anyways...the monk seems pretty strong. Can deal lots of damage really fast, although seems a little fragile if he gets ganged up on. I don't think I'm gonna really stick with him though, he just seems kind of out of place. This isn't street fighter, its diablo. Seems fun enough to play with though.
The witch doctor is absolutely insane...in a good way. Fireballs and ice beams seem absolutely pedestrian compared with the ability to toss around jars filled with spiders, set bats on fire and sic them on your enemies, summon zombie dogs and spawn hands from the ground to grab your enemy....and thats just the first few skills! I really like it, but I dunno...seems like more of an advanced class that requires a lot of fiddling, great once I'm familiar with the game, but was thinking my first play through would be something more....normal. Really cool class though, I guess the closest comparison would be the necro, but with a twist.
