I wouldn't be worried about the number of hours you'll sink in this. I mean, Diablo 3 will have the same amount of content as Diablo 2 (for acts and quests) + random stuff so let's hope it's at least on par with this.
If it takes you 20 hours to clear the game (Normal, Nm, Hell) X 5 classes = 100 hours. Then you need to clean Inferno....
And with Diablo, even if you're "done" with the content, you'll keep running and farming until you find this nice shining armor, this bad ass sword, etc
