Yep, Strike Back is about my Number One guilty pleasure these days. As dumb as it is, it is really, really fun.

Was I the only one who missed the cause of the physical affliction affecting Stonebridge? I miss so much on this fast-moving show - especially obscured dialog - I thought maybe it was explicitly explained, and I just forgot. Instead, after the last show, the interview of the actors explained how and why the director invested Stonebridge with a weakness. For my case, the writers have assumed this viewer has more comprehension than he does. In any case, now that the weakness has been explained, albeit outside the show itself, the show has better continuity, although why Stonebridge chose not to tell the company doctor about his problem, which some atropine could likely cure, remains strange. You don't compromise your fellows by being unable to reliably aim in that business, as his boss found out when he was unable "to take the shot" both at the airport and before with the RPG at the rail yard.

You're not the only one. I don't think the we've been told. Some people speculate he was poisoned eek.gif

Remember in the first or second episode when he fell through the roof of some shack? He cut his arm and when he looked around there were some artillery rounds oozing some type of chemical. And what ever it was is causing his illness.

Exactly as explained for us slow-on-the-uptake viewers during the actor interviews I referenced.

Additionally, it was explained that the show runners thought Stonebridge was too bullet-proof and perfect. The character needed some vulnerabilities.

That explains it! Thanks for the information smile.gif

And how about Scott suddenly considering the idea of getting out?

Right. Sorta forgot about that though.

I do remember Scott and Stonebridge dealing with the Iranian? diamonds. They have the right to take them for profit. They're shot at during the whole episode tongue.gif

Amazing episode.

Missed the last 5? minutes due to heavy rain and my DBS system frown.gif
I'll catch the ending later tonight or tomorrow.

Can't wait to read all the chatter! Thankfully Stonebridge made that shot

Agreed. I wonder if we will ever find out.

Well so far they've wrapped up the story lines with the season finale's. Don't figure they will change now.

Loved the mobile mortar launchers, I wonder if the IRA knew section 20 was inside the Embassy or if it was, as she said previously "collateral damage"?

Also loved the use of the rear view mirror, and didn't Locke get shot in the shoulder? He recovered quite nicely....

Yeah- and they were spot on accurate too rolleyes.gif
But it's Strike Back, so they get a pass on that kind of stuff!

Next week brings the lads to Mother Russia- should be a fun time for all eek.gif

I really enjoy this show as a better made, acted and written version of Burn Notice.  Same miraculous escapes, etc but more believable for some reason.  They often try for logic and credibility and hit the mark, while occasionally going full Wile E Coyote with plots (DEA Agents would never be used as depicted, etc).  For some reason I accept the silliness here with a wink and still love the show as escapism.

I have wondered that as well. They went out of their way finding her in the jungles of South America and introducing her as the agent in charge down there and then she tags along with the gang in Budapest???

Yeah I was thinking that was probably not the first time he's worn that ensemble even down to the make-up:eek:
Also, a fitting name for a gay Russian..think about it.....

I knew that they were going to address Stonebridge's illness, Scott alluded to it way too much. Lots going on to wrap up the season, Leo's been made, Al Zuhari has the NATO list, and the new Russian double agent chick....nice!tongue.gif

There is no denying it. This show does not drag!
The descriptions of the filming of certain "difficult" scenes that show up after the episode are almost as entertaining as the show itself. Those guys look like they are having a great time making this!

Interesting that Scott's first thought after Leo's execution was how he was going to explain it to Esther...

Didn't he tell her that he would protect Leo for her? Surprisingly, they kind of bonded, a bit, sort of. He tends to take that kind of commitment and "promise" seriously.

While I like the show, I couldn't help wondering why they had left the helicopter unguarded or intact. I hate little details like that.

I agree. The first thing I thought of was put a grenade in the helicopter once you've made your position known.

Or like the Jihadi standing directly behind Leo when he was shot.
