The season finale could be a real shocker. Looking forward to it.

This show is so much more action packed than Homeland is.

Homeland doesn't require 'action' to keep your attention. Two different types of shows, both well done.

Strike Back doesn't try to get too complex, but the action scenes (not plots necessarily) are extremely well done, the storylines are just arcane enough and the intrigue still a mystery (who's the mole), that I really look forward to this show continueing. The 2 spec ops guys have chemistry and the bond they've built has logical weight...they're about the 2 baddest guys on the planet and have saved each others asses just about every show...but it hasn't got tired. Sorry that this season is wrapping so quickly.

All the while avoiding the 1,274 bullets fired at them.

lol.

I was telling my friend almost the same thing. The two of them always seem to shoot to kill. They never miss any shots. Talk about marksmen

I was disappointed that there were no headshots in the last episode. First time all season they haven't shown that happen.

Nice... season two (or three if you count the Brit-only series) next year!

An 'OK' season finale. Good closure, that's for sure.

This TV show is awesome. Really enjoyed this season.
I admit, I never saw the original season. To be a connoisseur of this series, I should watch the first season. ... Then it would all make sense lol

Fixed that for you. Obviously you missed what happened to the last terrorist, eh?

...and the kidnapped Pakistani general...and I think one of the Sec. 20 troops that got nailed early.

This was a very entertaining show.

Er... I was talking about the episode the night before I left my comment, not the last episode of the season, which hadn't aired yet.

That said, order was restored when we got a couple of headshots in the season finale. and a good finale it was. Glad to see we'll have a season 3.

Check your program guide for this coming Saturday evening on Cinemax - they're showing the series in order that night.

Recently started watching this as Comcast has the entire 10 ep season available On Demand. Good escapist action stuff - and takes itself a bit less serious than HOMELAND (which I also enjoy). Definite "24" vibe, but minus the whole "hot chicks getting stuck in cougar traps".....so far.

Something I noticed in one of the early episodes...our 2 main agents check into a hotel under the aliases "Byers" & "Langley".....if there were THREE agents, I assume the 3rd alias would have been "Frohike". Thank you Frank Spotnitz for tossing in an X Files easter egg!

Plus I got to see LOST's "Mr Eko" again....as a character not unlike an Eko that never left Africa for that damned island.

My favorite brace of eps were 7 & 8 in the Chetznian (sp?) woods featuring much mayhem, lots of treachery, mine fields, heroin factories, white slavery and organ farming. Who's got it better than that?

24 had hot chicks stuck in cougar traps? What the heck does that even mean?

Hey, that's a formula that worked for every season of The A-Team...

"I pity the fool that thinks they can shoot holes in my van!"

C'mon, this show is nothing like the A team. Both actors have to go through Spec Ops school prior to each season. The way the fights are choreographed, they usually get the drop on the bad guys...the way it's supposed to be. They've both been seriously wounded and their opposition aren't trained shooters, they're terrorists and criminals. Not saying the action isn't over the top. It is. That and their relationship...and the gratuitous sex/nudity, make this show one of the most enjoyable action series I've ever seen.

Of course the show itself isn't like the A-Team.

Having your main characters regularly able to avoid 40,000 bullets is, however, a staple of shows like the A-Team.

Despite that, I liked the A-Team.

So, there's no reason why I couldn't like Strike Back despite stretching things a bit in the action sequences.

Tremendous season opener.

It looks good. A smidgeon of Scott's backstory prior to Section 20, I'm guessing he free lanced for the CIA as a hitter (contractor), Stonebridge is now unencumbered and I assume ready to subject his enemy to some serious retribution and Rhona, a bit of a bad ass herself has taken over the team. 8 more eps to find the nuke triggers and thwart Tywynn Lannister...can't wait.

i LOVE Strike Back. I watched Cinemax's reruns of Season 2 (Season 1 if you ignore the UK series which has never been shown on US TV). Thanks for the reprise, Cinemax! The 95 minute double premiere for Season 3 was heart poundingly exciting. Better yet, the wonderful Charles Dance is apparently going to be this season's principal bad guy. I agree that this show is reminiscent of 24, before its silly premises deteriorated into unalloyed silliness. Strike Back is filled with explosions, bloodshed, beautiful seminude women, and nonstop action.

To get the most out of Strike Back, it's necessary to check suspension of disbelief at the door. The show's plots range from preposterous to REALLY preposterous. No matter, as was the case with 24 before it, Strike Back's cast is made up of skillful actors who perform their parts with utter seriousness. There is nothing very smart or very thoughtful here but it is loud, exciting, and very well made. Highly, highly recommended!

I knew his wife was dead the whole time and fully expected that guy to shoot or kidnap her when they were in the kitchen. It gives Stonebridge the ok to come back to the unit without the nagging wink.gif
