Service Update. After a month and a half, still no part, still no update from Toshiba. Have called and emailed and no new news. However, I have found out something. When I mute the tv, the tv will reboot about every few minutes. If I don't have it on reboot, then it takes much longer, but does still becomes unresponsive.
I just thought the mute-reboot thing was rather odd and telling regarding that the problem really is related to the board. Whether the problem lies with the firmware still or a bad board altogether, I am not the person to determine.
And yes, my boot up takes over 30 seconds and cycles a few times as its booting up. And it is on ethernet with 2.2.2 firmware. Also, my tv does not find any new updates. my first call to toshiba, they tried to tell me to download an update from toshiba site, but there was only a PDF how-to document there. The Toshiba USA Download page does not even list the 55TL515U as a model.
Update: Found it.
However, it seems to only be for network connectivity for users of cisco based routers.
"Firmware Update Available (Only) for Customers Experiencing Connection Issues Using a Cisco Router. Firmware Version 223 has been released that corrects: Connection issues when using a Cisco router. See the Download section of this support site to download the firmware if you are having this issue. NOTE: This firmware update applies ONLY to customers using a Cisco router connected to their TV's. Not all customers should update the firmware as there are no other improvements or enhancements. "Edited by captainfish - 7/6/12 at 7:31pm
