Otherwise if you want to reduce the filesize even more (why would you want to do that) you can encode

Depending on the movie it can be anywhere from a couple GBs to 10GBs+. All depends on how many extras are included

The extras, trailers and extra audio can save on average 20% I would say. My average ISO is about 25 gb or so. This contains just movie, HD audio and forced subs.

That sounds about right then. I only rip full BD ISOs and with 1200+ BD ISOs, my average ISO size is around 31GB.

Lets say I want to rip Avatar which for example is like 40gb. I take everything away except the original movie and audio. It'll come down to like 35gb.

That could be. Depends if the disc is movie only, could be 2D/3D combo, movie + extras, etc... It is not an exact science, and every disc will vary

Does anyone know if Apple Tv can play blu-ray sound. I have a subwoofer and the whole thing.

I don't see how. The ATV3 won't even be playing DD+ from Netflix.

??? Do you mean DTS MA and True HD? I doubt it. The ATV is not for the power user. Look at the Dune series for anything BluRay.

Can someone point me to a guide on subtitles and how to move them to within a 2.35:1 frame for my CIH setup? I know i has something to do with BDSup2Sub...

I just ripped (clown_BD) Star Wars 1 & 2 to my NAS and both have multiple playlists. I can't remember the numbers but in each case the correct one is the first one listed (Angle 1). This was pretty easy to figure out. The only difference between the multiple playlists is the language of the scrolling introduction text. Angle 1 is English.

Guys, is it possible to analyze at a file on the BD and see what is the "main" movie?

And can someone point me to a Subtitles with BDSup2Sub for Dummies guide? My context is a 2.35:1 CIH setup.

WHat do you mean analyze? With Clown_BD (via eac3to) all the playlists available get presented to you (which you can tell from there what the main movie is simply based on the timestamp)

I have notes on this topic built up from posts here and my own experience. It's on another computer I don't have access to right now. I'll try to post later today.

I ripped some time ago, but if memory serves me correct the forced subs were a handful. Clownbd had a tough time creating just one. It created several due to the commentaries.

Take a look at this post over in the forced subtitles thread. It talks about a process of using ClownBD and BDSup2Sub. I personally have done this with the movie 2012 (which is not CIH friendly).

I don't follow his flow exactly. I usually let ClownBD do its thing. Then, if there are forced subs and they aren't in the CIH area, I load subtitles into BDSup2Sub, move them, save and re-run tsMuxeR using the command line syntax found in the tsMuxeR.log.

Damian has a nice example on how to move the subtitles here.

Let me know if you have any questions on the process.

While it is true that the difference in angles is usually the language of the text (like the opening title, signs, etc. in the movie) it is not always angle 1 or the first playlist. I've had to run some Disney movies two and three times to get the correct angle. Currently I'm ripping Enchanted. The first playlist (angle 1) doesn't appear to be the correct playlist. In this case, I believe it is actually the last one, but I haven't completed the rip of that playlist yet.

If you have problems I'd search slysoft and doom9 forums. I almost always find the correct playlist there when I'm in doubt (or having trouble).

Isnt there a "roadmap" ... a file that can be read that contains the correct playlist? That must exist for the player to select it when hitting play movie.
