So after having severe frustrations with Monsters University and TrueHD dropouts, I decided to give FLAC a shot. I downloaded hdbrstreamextractor and ripped the disc extracting the TrueHD track as FLAC. Used MKVMerge and created my mkv. Played it through my Dune Smart H1 and eureka, it played back beautifully.
I do have a question though, going back through the thread and Damian's guide, I see mentions of having to download madFLAC and an Arcsoft decoder. I have done neither, so exactly what does my FLAC file contain? It ended up being 3.3GB, so I assume it has the lossless audio, but now I'm not sure. Can anyone shed some light as to how that all works?
