Samsung LN52A650A1FXZA distortion

Recently, in the last month or so when I turn on my tv I'm getting horizontal lines, about three, that run from the top of the TV to the bottom. This distortion only happens when I first turn the TV and it usually lasts 5 to 10 minutes. It's annoying. But this is THE only issue I've ever had with this TV.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean that for the first 10-15 minutes that your TV screen contains only 3 out of the 1080 lines it is capable of displaying?

No it's a big distortion of the picture.

Does the distortion also appear in the TV's Menu or is it only when trying to watch a program with from your source? If not with the menu what is your source?
