Why make such an inane statement?
The fact is that a number of people are having problems with their PCIe InfiniTV's crashing (in addition to the USB unit problems), and despite having known about the issue for some time now, Ceton has been unable (or unwilling?) to fix it. In fact, it seems Ceton has only made one beta firmware available for testing to the people with problems during the past 3 months.
If I were a prospective customer, this would be a lot more useful information to know than that someone with the handle "gsr" GUESSES that the number of people without problems is greater than the number of people with problems.
I can guarantee you that if everyone who wasn't having a problem with their card posted here just as often as those who are having problems, the posts about problems would be a lot more difficult to find.
Having followed the preorder process for these cards over at The Green Button (before it was renamed), I know for a fact that there are a LOT of users out there who own Ceton tuner cards and are aware of AVS Forums. We also knew at the time that there were a lot more orders than were being tracked in that thread. The number of people posting about problems in this thread is a very small percentage of just the number that were being tracked. So I'm not just making a wild guess with my statements.
If the people experiencing issues were anywhere close to your 50% guess (I don't recall suggesting any percentages and I highly doubt it's anywhere close to that), there would be a LOT more traffic in this thread.
I'm not saying that problems are non-existent or that those who are experiencing the issues should be ignored or stop posting. What I AM saying is that reading a forum like this can amplify a problem to make it appear more widespread and egregious than it is in reality to a prospective buyer. Yes, some people are having problems with their cards crashing. But some people are also NOT having problems with their cards crashing.
