Exact thing happened to me last night. Everytime I have had to deal with Comcast to get my card paired, it is a nightmare. I think this is partly due to being in an old Time Warner area with SA equipment. I believe most of Comcast is motorola based.
I have been having a lot of issues with Ceton InfiniTV PCIe version. My first card I managed to break the mini-coax connector off the board. Ceton was very understanding and replaced the card. Once I got the new card I began to see strange errors where WMC wouldn't see any tuners. I would go to the Ceton Diagnostics and for some reason it thought my M Card was an S Card. I reported this issue to Ceton and their advice was to replace the CableCard.
My card ran pretty good for the next few months, then M card showing as a S card has shown up again. I let Ceton know and they replaced the card again. The strange thing was, I only saw this error after HTPC went to sleep and then resumed from sleep. I ended up just leaving an extender on 24/7, tricking the HTPC to not sleep.
I got my new Ceton card yesterday and surprisingly it only took around an hour to get my CableCard paired. Previously it would take truck rolls, support roulette, and eventually a Tier 2 tech calling me. The lady in India, who has been working hard to mask her accent, was able to get the card paired by contacting Tier 2 herself.
Last night after card was paired, I noticed that channel changing was very slow. Seemed like the CP channels were worse. While watching TV I would occasionally lose video feed and WMC would say no tuners available. I was on the latest public firmware with 5124 hardware version.
I have updated to the beta firmware of 22.214.171.124. The Ceton support advised I would have a firmware on my card that soon to be general release. Does anyone know if 126.96.36.199 is close to being a general release?
