Xbox 360 Slim and HD-DVD Drive

So I've never been able to find a straight answer to this question online.

This question is for those of you with a Xbox 360 Slim, HD-DVD Drive, a surround sound receiver capable of decoding DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD audio codecs and everything connect using HDMI.

With the above setup. When you play a HD-DVD does the HDMI port on the Xbox 360 Slim pass the uncompressed HD audio through properly? or does it dumb it down to Dolby Digital/DTS like the original Xbox 360 does?

The latter, 360 will only pass DD or DTS sound. Sorry.

They need to change the hardware to 1.3 already I've been waiting for ever and don't wanna look for an a35 or xa2 jus for uncompressed audio on an additional unit attatched to my home theater

The 360,old or slim, cannot pass uncompressed hi-rez audio due to hardware limitations and cannot be fixed via firmware and regardless of HDMI version.

Maybe one day microsoft will find the answer to out prayers and make a hybrid HD DVD/bd player add on with bitstream capability but this will never happen I'm jus wishful dreaming
