Missing AV123 veneers, what about the KEF XQ30?

I've been Internet shopping for new speakers for a few days now (I know, short time) and I'm having trouble finding moderately priced speakers in nice veneers. This time I want to stick to BirdsEye Maple, so far all i can find thats remotely reasonable are these KEF XQ30s at 1500 a pair.

Does anyone have experience with KEFs? Are they any good?

Any other suggestions for sub-$2k birdseye maple mains? Thanks in advance!

John...you moved to DC?

I have not heard that model of KEF's....but the models I have heard, in the same line, are very good. They are "brighter" than your RS550's.....but IMO, also better.

Yea hey Curtis! Long time, yes I live in the DC area now, loving the change so far!

This system is for a 14x12 room, Its going to be a 4.1 system to start, will probably add the center channel once I get my 61 inch LCD mounted on the wall.
