I have to restart the game. It's to the point where I have to just stand around waiting from night to turn to day...which is like ten minutes or more!
Any thoughts?

I'd do a hard reboot of everything involved (PS3, router, server, whatever). That's obviously not supposed to happen. I've never seen it.

Still playing my way through this. Still lovin' it.

Just defeated Salomet, now back to Gran Soren to see what's next.

All I know is the more I play, the more I want to say "aught".

Hard finding time between this, Amazing Spiderman, Battlefield 3 and occasional forays into Skyrim, Kingdoms of Amalur and Chrono Cross.

Put your PS3 on the DMZ or look up which ports need to be open? I've never had this problem.

I've had the game since Friday and I am addicted. I have barely done the main quest and have been just exploring. This is the first game in a very long time where exploring the world has been the most exciting part of a game. (nothing like the first time you run into a Chimera while still a weakling)

Then you have the combat, which is the best combat system in an action RPG to date. (Finally, I can actually climb an enemy without a QTE and attack it where I want to) And with several diverse classes that can be switched to at any time (after mild story progression) there is plenty of variety to the gameplay.

And finally, the Graphics, this game is beautiful. With a Cinematic widescreen view and a fantastic lighting system (no baked in lights!) and a streaming open world. I honestly would be happy if Next Gen games looked this good and simply improved on streaming, draw distance, and framerates.

The game does have flaws, but what the game does right is just fantastic and I really hope that Dragon's Dogma 2 takes those rights and runs with them.

The lock up at the "accessing server" is still happening. I have never been able to stay at an inn...not once.

I read a review of the game saying that "it has all the elements of being the best open world RPG ever...but falls short in about every technical aspect"
Thats pretty much sums up what I think of this game. I saw confirmation on the DD wiki page there is a sequel...if they fix the quests, the fast travel, and a few other things it could be up there for game of the year. Never mind if they take it to the next level and switch out pawns for actual MMO type multiplayer. I'd be hooked.

Sorry Conspiracy, that sucks man.

Maybe copy your Saved Game file, then try a reinstall?

That's an odd problem, I've never encountered it (or even heard of it).

The more I've played the less the Lack of Fast Travel has bothered me. I use the Ferrystones now all the time (I buy all I want, money's not an issue) and the Port Crystals are VERY useful.

It didn't really seem that money was going to be an issue. Even being VERY slow without being able to stay at inns I usually came back with more money than I could spend after venturing out. Item management isn't very fun when I have to discard items just to be able to walk. Also...I was hoping that when I discarded an item it would fall to the ground, nope. It disappears, forever.

It was fun but I think I'm about done with this game for a while. I only picked it up to see if Amalur was as good as I thought it was, turns out I like Amalur better. Either way I hope they continue the series and put online multiplayer in the world. They already have a little bit of that aspect with the Ur-Dragon...which is a VERY cool idea for a single player game.

If you're having to throw stuff away, you're doing it wrong.

Just hand any extra stuff to your pawns (any three of them). If a pawn ever dies, those items are immediately deposited in storage. After each mission or two I go to the Inn and Deposit all materials into my Storage, that solves my problem. There it sits until I'm ready to Combine Materials and make stuff.

That said, I'm NOT really into Inventory Management, and I think that's something that Kingdoms of Amalur totally nailed! I love their system. A Junk Pile??? Why did it take 20 years to come up with THAT idea!! I love it!

I'm also not into Item Creation (potions, weapons, armor, etc). I wonder if I can play through both games without ever having to do that stuff (just sell what ingredients I find and buy items instead). But it seems that item creation is a staple of modern RPGs (shrug).

I always bring a big hulking pawn with me for a pack mule (character size affects carry capacity) there is also a fighter skill called Sinew that greatly increases the "very light" zone and a Strider skill called Leg Strength that makes you one weight class lighter (and prevents full over encumbered)

The lack of fast travel can be a little much (Cassardis should of had a port crystal as well) As for your server error, can you rent new online pawns? If not then play offline and use an inn, see if that helps. I've only seen this error mentioned a few times on Gamefaqs, and it seems to be completly random.

1. So THATS why my 11 year old girl main pawn gets over encumbered so easily?
2. I can rent pawns with no problem. Its when other people have rented mine...and she returns that I get the server errors. Any other time it says accessing server in the upper right corner its there for a quick second and does what its supposed to, which I'm guessing is either people using my Pawn or the game loading randoms on the road.

Just Platinum'd the game. About 100 hours and two playthroughs and I am taking a break. I still need to get myself into another NG+ and get to an inn with my pawn so I can safely take a break from the game.

GotY PS3 contender so far. (Xenoblade is still GotY overall frontrunner)t

I may use my Japanese Alt account to do a fresh run of the game, because as it is now, I curb stomp everything but online UR.

It's 18 bucks on Amazon now. I snagged a copy for 360 only because I'm near one a little more than my PS3 lately. The kid uses the PS3 in the living room to watch old the old Muppet Show. It is my last purchase for the 360.

I have done two runs of Bitterblack now, the new content is pretty good. It is meant for high level players and gets much harder the second time through (and adds a new story twist to the final boss of the area)

Now I am going to rush through the main game again to see if anything else was added (DA has a lot of new story related to the main plot and it could effect it)
