Even though I agree with chunon, I'm still going to hold off... may not even bother with the update since I don't use Skype. As far as his comment about the data on the SD card being corrupt, that's definitely a possibility. Assuming you still have that SD card with the firmware update, I would download the update again and save it elsewhere...then perform a binary compare of the two files to see if they match. If they don't, then you know that's the problem.
I assume you're display shows you now have firmware version 2.220... not sure if you can apply the update again. I know you can't if your updating the display directly via an internet connection, but maybe you can if you're using an SD card... but I would use a different card this time.
Otherwise, I wonder if there is a way to reset the display to the point that it would revert back to the original firmware... then start over.
