Any help would be appreciated!

Which TV is better for gaming a RCA 1080p LCD or a 720p Plasma?

Thank You,

Go with plasma. Less input lag and handles motion better.

Don't like being harsh about nearly ANY product - but (personally) would not buy an RCA tv - although might TAKE one if they were giving them away....

Consumer Reports' HDTV reviews seem to often be dismissed as being "too easy" on the sets they test - but even they rate nearly all of the 2nd/3rd Tier LCDs at or near the bottom of their comparisons.
Alas, they have not recently tested an RCA - but the test results for LCDs from Magnavox, Sylvania, Philips, AOC, Auvio, ViewSonic, Insignia, Westinghouse, & Haier are so poor that it seems prudent to stick to the major lcd brands - and even some sets from THOSE manufactures fall pretty far down the list!
Assuming you are looking at a 40-42" set, would agree with the advice to try a plasma: probably either a Panasonic or - if cheap enough - a LG. (Any chance of still finding a close-out deal on a Panasonic P42U2? Would be an excellent lower cost choice.)

That's because they don't make them anymore!
