My New HT Photos

Thread Starter
I posted my HT photos here quite sometime ago. I also posted them at Hometheatershack and Blu-ray Forum as well. Now I made some changes (not necessarily upgrades) in my theater, and decided to post the new HT pics here again. I called my HT "post-modern" style because I have added a few classical elements to my otherwise modern setting, just to contrast.

My gear:

Receivers/Amp: Harmon Kardon AVR3600, Emotiva XPA-3, Dish VIP722, Dayton SA240 Sub Amp.(for bass shakers)
Players: Sony BDP BX57, PS3 fat 40G. HK HD990 CD player, JVC DVD/DVD-Audio player
Display: Optoma H20, Dalite106" screen
Speakers: JBL L880 front x 2, LC1 center, LS326W side x 2, E10 back x 2
Subs: JBL L8400P x 2
Power Conditioner: Belkin PF60
Other Device: Logitech Harmony 900 Remote, Lutron IR Dimmer x 2, Aura Bass Shaker x 4

Your comments are welcome.

Very nice setup - I also like the use of sound treatments and the subtle film border at the top left

Very nice room! Did you do a before and after regarding the sound treatments? What are your thoughts? I am wondering if I should consider for my space.

Guys, thank you so much for your appreciation.

As for the sound treatment, I originally thought with all these curtains in my theater there should be enough to absorb the sound. Later, I found out there was still room for improvement, especially the wall on the left side. I then put the sound-absorbing panels on the left wall and the ceiling, strickly following the " first reflecting point" principle. I could hear, or rather, feel a slight difference. The sound seems cleaner than before. My next project? Maybe build some bass traps and put them at the two front corners.

Very nice setup! What is the border on top? Are those little movie posters of some sort?

That's a cool idea. I like how it looks like a strip of film too.

Great equipment, decoration and execution.

You know what, I hope some day I can have a big 2.35:1 screen, like the one in your beautiful HT.

Thanks. I love jbl studio l series. I don't feel too much mid bass out. IMHO, it is one of the best av speaker system for hi-fi listening.

Thanks for the nice comment. I tried to make it more "post-modern" looking, at least this is my understanding of "post-modern".

Two questions...

1.) How does the 2.35 screen work when you watch content in a different "narrower" aspect ratio like 1.78?

2.) Where did you get those Dolby and DTS pictures in the frame? I like that.

1. I have no experience with 2.35:1 screen. Mine is the stanarded one.

2. I downloaded the signs from tinstudio.com/gallery. They have all kinds of theater signs. However, now this site is password protected I think.

Thanks.

dude thanks...they were all available. I may make a few of these and have them framed. They look nice in the theater room!
