Ugh, I think I'm on the verge of giving up at this point wrt madVR.
Since MPC-HC was definitely the reason I was getting problems w/ madVR (thanks again for that, BTW), I decided to enable Arcsoft video decoder (TMT 5) in MPC-HC with the regsvr32/ checkactivate.dll hack. Now I get an essentially entirely green picture whenever I enable Arcsoft. I've tried every order of setup, redone that which was already done, clicked and unclicked until the cows came home, and got that same damn green screen.
Frustration has hit its highest levels.
Heck, I also have PDVD9. So I decided I'd try the 'PowerDVD video decoder.' The problem, unfortunately, is that, although I have like 50 different available PowerDVD options, there is nothing in my collection of options that is actually named the'PowerDVD video decoder' or 'Cyberlink video decoder.' There's a 'PowerDVD h264/AVC decoder,' and a 'Cyberlink Video/SP decoder (PDVD9),' but no 'PowerDVD video decoder,' and certainly no 'HAM' option. No VC-1 PDVD decoder. I've tried just about anything from cyberlink that was video decoderjust to make sure, and none of them have done the trick.
I must be an idiot.
Sooo, I've defaulted back to EVR w/ MPC-HC. Which is fine I guess, but I still wanna get this to work out w/ madVR, just for pride if nothing else (I have an AMD GPU. So LAVCuvid is a no-go unfortunately).
Edited to add -- finally got to page 8 and found a possible technique for registering the powerdvd decoder. Will try now. That's what I get for not reading the entire thread. I'm sure I'll still f%^& it up somehow..
Yep. Still f$%^ed.
