My opinion is based on my memory of seeing it several times at several different theaters during its original theatrical release.
I am assuming you have not seen the film element used for the original scan, so how can you assume this transfer does NOT look like the source element from which it was derived?
Are you kidding?
the original film elements...they're in my garage!
I am again assuming you are applying some form of logic to form your "O", but what is that logic based on?
Let me go a step further. You claim inconsistency. Can I assume you mean some scenes look very good and others less so?
Using your presumed logic, how would you account for this?
MY logic has nothing to do with how the BD looks.
Since your logic dictates this transfer could look better
Again, my logic
has nothing to do with what I see from the BD.
would it then be logical to assume that the person doing the mastering arbitrarily decided that some scenes should look subjectively worse that others?
Yes, logic MAY lead one to make an assumption
as to who or what
is responsible for the inconsistent image quality, but I won't.
I'm just spitballing here...
No problem, I've been known to fling a few myself.
However, always downwind....
