Difference between these two Crestron prodigy systems.

Hello I was wondering what is the big difference between the PMC3+ PAK with the PTX3 remote verses the PMC3 PAK with newer PLX3 remote. Is there really anything different about these?

I was also wondering what are peoples toughs on the Prodigy system verses going with Control 4? Does one have more functionality then the other?

The only difference is the touch panel that comes with it, correct.

Side note with this: On most of the jobs I have done with MLX-3's and PTX-3's the clients complain about 80% of the time that there are no hard key number keys. You have to press keypad and popup a subpage with the numbers. The PLX-3 solves that by having hard number keys.

Consider how you use your system now and if this will be a problem for you. If so, get the PMC3_PAK.

As far as the differences, they vary across the board. The Prodigy system uses the 3 series processing and has the ability to add any Crestron piece so from a pure "functionality" standpoint the Prodigy blows the doors off the Control4.

I have to note, I am a little bias though.

The PLX-3 has yet to ship. It keeps being pushed back.

Is it going to be a higher end remote verses the PTX3. Also with the Prodigy system can i use the higher end C
Crestron touchscreens?

It is going to be the intro remote in the Prodigy system. The PMC3 will not work with the regular Crestron line at this time.

Sure there may be a differance, the user experiance.

"T" usually indicates touch screen and "L" Lectern or in this case not a touch screen but with a scroll-wheel.

To me it as if they are going for more of a classic remote than a touch panel, something i have been looking forward to.

I'm fairly certain there is a prodigy version on the tps-6x. The tpmc8x would need a prodigy expanded (xp) or regular control system.

They have not released the Prodigy version of the 6x yet either.

I thought the point of the pmc3-xp was that you could access the full Crestron range?

They are 2 diff models. PMC-3 is not the same as PMC-3 XP. I don't think it is shipping yet.

Another thing I though of which companies wireless ceiling fans and also door locks that work best with the system?

True, but it costs only a little more so idk why u wouldn't spend the extra money for the extra flexibility.

As a side question, does anyone know if the prodigy dimmer rail can dim led's?
