Is there any way at all that you could get some Min21's for a detailed review & thorough testing of the real life crossover settings? I believe that with your extensive testing experience will only now allow the true reflection of this debacle of this crossover issue.
Firstly, quite a few users have stated that even though CA state 120Hz in the marketing blurb, in reality, something like 150Hz is much more appropriate. Then CA state that well, actually, the 120Hz setting works but only within the confines a of very small European rooms (& the room size example given by the CA rep was indeed very small even by European standards) but also that for larger rooms, a setting like 140/150Hz would be more appropriate.
Now it seems, that they have informed that the Min21's work "great" at 120Hz which mainly contradicts the above & seems to go well against the measured figures of the Home Theatre Review of "The –3dB point is at 168 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 143 Hz" which you indicated would cause a huge disparity from 135hz let alone the 120Hz that CA now claim.
I notice that Jeff is testing lower settings at the moment & initially seeming to indicate he prefers things at that level, but his previous experiments with lower settings on the Min10/20's usually made him revert back to the higher settings eventually when any initial favourable impressions then wore off & I am allowing for the very real possibility that this might also be the case with the Min21's.
This crossover setting thing with the Mins really is getting beyond a joke now & it is becoming farcical imho & CA should really be more informative, forthcoming & honest with their information. It would be so extremely helpful if you were able to get a set & do a detailed test, we all know & trust your reviews & it would help put this never ending conundrum to rest one & for all & give folks some greater clarity. Can you request CA USA to send you a set for review?
Many Kind Thanks,
