Can anyone confirm if the 2-4 co-op campaign is available in this?
Every where that you can order it from shows 1-4 player co-op online and off. I would doubt that they would take co-op out of this game, since it is a big selling point.

In older Halo games, you could record videos but the only way to share was in game or by rendering it on their server for $$. Since then, Call of Duty games have created video rendering and youtube upload for free. Will we be able to get videos to youtube for free with Halo 4 or will it still be in game on for $$ only?

I've never tried it, in the past I figured it was a Waypoint thing?

You had to pay for bungie pro to render movies:

Got the vanilla version pre ordered. I'm new to the multilayer scene for halo, with that being said what are the game types?
So far I've seen:

Capture the flag
Dominion-capture bases and if you cap all bases the enemy has no spawn locations
Slayer- is this just team deathmatch?
Flood-start out with one zombie and you need to convert people. If you're not a zombie the goal is to be last man standing?

Are these all of them for player v player multi?

LOL

They have a bunch of game modes, and the community comes up with all kinds of wild, wild things / gametypes that you wouldn't even have thought of.

It has been over a year for me, so someone correct me if I am wrong, but they have:

Slayer - probably the most popular game. You usually play to 100 kills I believe. Whichever teams gets that first wins. There used to be specific spawn locations for special power weapons that could sway a match. At the beginning of each match there would be a mad dash to these locations. Also these modes usually have vehicles, like jeeps, tanks, and flying vehicles. A pretty standard mode, but much more epic than like TDM or something.

CTF- Big maps usually you had to Capture 3 flags to win, small maps 5. But if you got the lead you could just milk the 15 minute clock and secure the win that way. Usually an excellent game mode, probably my favorite. The guy with the flag became very slow, so you had to pick him up in a vehicle or slowly bring the flag back on foot.

Plant the Bomb- (I actually can't think of the actual name for this game mode) but a ball / bomb would spawn in the middle of the map, there would a mad dash to get it. Then you would try to take it to the enemy spawn and plant it at their base. As long as someone was holding the bomb, the bomb was invisible to the enemy team. You had to be very sneaky. If it hit the ground everyone in the game would be alerted because it showed up on your screen. Actually this game mode might have been my favorite.

Infected- was one of those community things that became a regular gamemode. One zombie infects ofthers that become zombies.

SWAT- one shot one kill TDM. Must be a headshot though. A really nice take on tdm. Pretty intense TDM mode.

Snipers-a sniper rifle only TDM mode...one of my favorite modes for some reason.

Oddball- either an individual or team game mode where a ball / skull is spawned in the middle of the map and whoever holds it the longest wins. Usually like 250-500 seconds or something. Think of everybody killing everybody, and the last man standing running off with the ball...running for his life.

There is 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 8v8 of just about any game mode.

The most competitve players probably play 4v4 slayer the most. I like big team games, 8v8 and mostly objective games, like CTF, or plant the bomb.

They have to many crazy game modes / mods to list. And I probably missed listing a couple key "normal" modes. I've played hockey, soccer, golf, horse, all kinds of crazy games that from time to time are just fun. The ability to play with the settings / dynamics of the game offers up some pretty interesting options.

You can also Forge. This mean you can take maps and completely redesign them. The community can build some incredible, incredible maps.

EDIT- I actually had a couple maps that never saw the light of day...but I was pretty proud of them here is a link to where I used the game recorder mode as I walked around showcasing those maps...http://www.youtube.com/user/mphfrom77/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Don't forget the best, Headhunter. For those familiar with COD it basically a multi-team hybrid of kill confirmed and headquarters where not only do you have to kill the enemy and collect his head but you have to return it to one of two locations that shift map point every 90 seconds or so. The multi-team aspect added to all this makes for nothing but excitement... I've never seen a camper in this mode and the pace is insane! I've not read enough yet but damn I hope this mode is returning. It should really be its own option too instead of mixed in with the multi-team bag.

I've yet to make a decision LE vs normal. I'll probably go with the normal game and then maybe add that map pack pass or whatever later...not sure if that thing will be available later.

I am going to try to play a little Halo Reach and Halo 3 in the days heading up to 4. I still am afraid that 4 will not be as good as those. Guess I will find out soon enough, and should just stop mentioning it.

Wow! I didn't know there were that many different game modes. Thanks for the replies

I just put in Halo Reach last night for the first time in over a year. I think head Hunter was the game I enjoyed the most. I have Halo4 on Pre-order from BestBuy, so I am looking forward to it's release. I just wish Black Ops 2 didn't come out a week later.

Why they released Halo in front of COD again, makes no sense. IF they would release the game just a month or two earlier they would have millions more playing the title.. than they do going head to head with the best selling FPS of all time.

Agreed and it is why I am torn on getting it. Reach was released in Sept, almost 2 months ahead of BLOPS and I know many many of the AVS regulars I play with left MW2 to go to Reach until BLOPS hit since we were all sick of the hacked, DC, Commando, OMA MW2 games.

I am most likely getting this title anyway but that's because my son wants it. I had planned to wait until X-mas and let "Santa" bring it to him but he has pulled out a bunch of his old games to trade in and get Halo and Skylanders so I guess I'll be getting it next Tues.

+1, I remember playing lots of Halo Reach Multiplayer and then Black Ops came-out.

I haven't went back since......

I seriously can't wait for next Tuesday! I even took off Wednesday so I can stay home and play Halo 4 all day!

I went back and forth and liked both. Blops was better and more friends were on it but now that I can create classes and all on Halo that might change how much time it gets.
Well I bit today and ordered the Halo 4 Special Edition XBOX 360. I'll just sell my old one on craigslist or something.

Halo 4
New XBOX 360 w/a larger HDD and cool look
2 new awesome looking controllers (which I needed as some of mine are a little worn out)

So it looks like I will be playing at least some Halo 4 (my son will play it more than me once BLOPS2 hits).

Only downside is I won't have it on release day since it is coming from newegg (I had some credit with them), bummer.

Now I just need to figure out how to txfer everything on my existing slim 360 to this new one.

My Halo killer moment was actually COD4. I remember Halo3 had just released and COD4 released their multiplayer public beta. From that moment online gaming, not just FPS, had changed as I knew it. After playing the COD4 beta it was pretty instant I would never be interested in another single player campaign, because playing against the computer now seemed more boring than ever. Hell just going back to play Halo3 after the COD4 beta was boring. Running to get the best weapon felt stupid. Using an entire magazine to kill an opponent felt stupid. And not being to do custom classes felt last generation.

As I said earlier the premier Halo title will always get my money. As its the first FPS game I truly enjoyed playing with a controller.. and I have SO many good memories of playing Halo 1 & 2 for entire weekends with friends and cases of beer. Which still makes me very excited to see what changes Halo4 has made, to speed up the pace of the game & stay up-to-date with other popular "combat" franchises.

I was going to wait for a deal due to a backlog of games.

But now, I'm going to have to shop for a deal. Any deals out there?

Those were my two biggest gripes with Halo. The tried to mitigate that in Reach and depending on the game mode succeeded however the fixed classes were still a real buzz kill. From what I have read Halo 4 will have create a class, finally! And, forge is returning which is huge to me. I have no talent for designing maps but the fact that they allow such freedom for the fanbase and then take some of the best fan created maps and put them in MP rotation for free is lightyears ahead of the COD franchise IMO.

can't wait til tuesday!

I am buying it day one, but I need some people to run it with. I usually stick to slayer and some CTF, but will play whatever. I may be a little rusty, but it shouldn't take me long. If you guys are looking for an extra person to throw on your friend list for Halo, send me an request. Just let me know you're from AVS. My GT is in my signature.

Reviews say that Heroic is going to be insaine without co-op so I am going to be looking for some friends to grind the campaign. I see a few of the BF3 guys in here so maybe we will have to party up. I will spend a goot bit of time on the campaign from the start to knock it out. If you are trying to get er done hit me up.
