does anyone know what happens if I apply the $25 coupon toward something less than $25? do I lose the difference? the MS store is selling Dance Central 3 for $15 on Black Friday (today too). I guess I could get another game to push it over $25.

Hey guys, I just picked this up on Friday. I haven't started yet, but feel free to add me. My GT is "Taurus570". I recognize some people from the COD threads, but I wanted to post over here as well.

Just finished the campaign and WOW was that great. Probably the best single player campaign I have ever played, and the best at least since Mass Effect.

I need to finish the campaign again with co-op. Anybody interested?

my biggest wishes for Halo 4 are:

1) why are there no volume controls??? I want to turn down music and pump up game noises.
2) why can't you play old Spartan Ops episodes with matchmaking? It's only the current episode that has matchmaking. with the older episodes, you need to find friends.

I played online multiplayer for the first time last night. I expected to get slaughtered but I held my own. The multiplayer seems really balanced and the matchmaking was really good. I didn't feel like everyone was miles better than me. I'm a terrible online player usually but I was really having a fun time in H4. In Reach, I was constantly getting slaughtered.

Why can't I play Spartan Ops in Legendary difficulty???

Who says you can't? Just choose the episode and chapter and choose Legendary.

I meant if I choose multiplayer. Unless you play a private party game, you cannot choose the difficulty.

Sweet... SWAT is finally back! Had some fun playing that last night! Just starting to get into the campaign too but I think I need o go back because I missed some dialogue between Cortana and Chief... something about AI's life span?

Swat is easily my favorite game mode. Gotta love 1 shot, 1 kill games.

geez! missed playing spartan ops last week and forgot that i cant find an online multiplayer game on a previous weeks' spartan ops missions!

had to polish off "Catherine" missions on heroic by myself! averaged about a half hour per match!

need to set some time aside and setup some forge maps. my file share was bursting with maps back in reach.

anyone remember this beauty?

I still need to do a bunch of the SO missions. We can polish them off if you're interested.

there's a major error for the crimson map pack! it's available for free through the game. look for the DLC within the Halo 4 game, not on the marketplace! i'm downloading right now. at 83% complete.

if you can get it before they fix it, you're lucky and free and clear!

alright, after reading more about the error, it's people that redeemed the specialization code that are able to get this for free. for everyone else, it's the correct 800 points.

A buddy of mine reminded me...got it for free also.

Does anyone know if they intend to mix forge maps in the regula rotation as the did with Reach? Also is Crimson on available on the DLC lobby or is it in the others now as wel?

I'm guessing they will eventually integrate new Forged maps into the playlists, but probably not until the 3 'official' map packs have been offered for sale.

As for Crimson maps in multiplayer lobbies aside from the special "DLC playlist':

Looks like they are banning people for playing the map pack that didn't pay for it.

I finished up the campaign last night. Amazing! Halo continues to have some of the best SP games in this generation.

There's definitely been something screwy with downloading the Crimson Map Pack, but supposedly it's fixed now:

I also read somewhere that if you had redeemed the specialization token [unlocking 6 more specializations from the default 2] from a couple weeks ago, it also got you a free week to try out the Map Pack. Which is why people were excited to get the map pack for 'free' without having a Pass from a preorder or anything. But it looks like beginning today, the map pack will again be inaccessible if you don't have a Map Pass or purchase it separately through the Marketplace.

Not the smoothest rollout ever, hopefully they learned from it.

Does anyone notice a host advantage or are you able to tell who the host is? Or has Halo finally gotten away from this and go to a shared host and dedicated servers? At times i feel like a team will come in and they will have a huge advantage. Maybe its just lag for that particular game?

I have played quite a bit of multi-player and the games are still hosted due to the long host migrations, but I have not noticed any host advantage. As for lag, I have only experience it in spartan ops matchmaking.

it's always felt good to me. only felt lag in one match. and I doubt I'm always the host. my connection's not that good.

i have a great connection, but glad to hear you guys dont suspect host advantage. Ive never been kicked when someone left the game which is a good sign. Now if we could only fix the distance of the halo lunge!

I haven't noticed much lag, just a couple matches but nothing at all regular. The hit boxes seem to need some tweaking but other than that things are pretty smooth.

Is there a way to play 'SLAYER'? You know without the team. That was my favorite game mode in the past Halos. I can't find it in War Games, just 'TEAM SLAYER'. WTF
