I have a friend who has an older receiver from panasonic (SA-HE100) and is looking to get some new speakers to hookup to them. Doesn't plan on upgrading and is looking to buy exclusively from sears. Basically i could find the SS-B3000 or SS-B1000 (guessing the SS-F5000 would be too much for the receiver to handle?) and i'm still trying to find the matching center channel, but i'm sure it has similar specs.
Anyway, i know too much about tvs and little on audio so i've come for advice (other than buy a new receiver or get "X" speakers instead from "X" place, cuz i've already suggested that). Looking at the specs, will these speakers work fine with his current receiver?
I don't think the watts are an issue w/ the receiver outputting 100w/ch and the speaker taking in max 120w, but i'm not sure about the ohms since the receivers specs list both 6ohms (output power home theater mode) and 6-8 ohms (load impedence) where the speakers are 8 ohms. I'm guessing they'll be okay, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.
