Today, when I installed the BIC, I could not get it down to 75db no matter how I adjusted the sub gain. Then, whenever I try to run Audyssey, I get an error message stating speakers could not be detected. I've tried resetting the 709 to no avail. Also tried running it with no sub connected. Any suggestions?
An update. Checked all speaker cables, confirmed tweeters are working fine, and reset the 709 yet again. Managed to get the sub to 85db during setup with sub gain set at darned near zero. Simply can't get to 75. Dial at about the 7pm position.
Reran Audyssey and instead of the Speaker Not Detected error I started getting Ambient Noise Too Loud error (the room is quiet as a tomb).
I finally tried placing the detection mic in a position other than my prime listening position and BINGO, Audyssey runs successfully in Quick Setup mode. I was not brave enough to try the eight position run tonight.
I am going to assume that moving the mike was a fluke and not causing this issue ... mostly because I need the MLP to work!
