I have 1 question and 1 issue.
First, I have Polk audio tower speakers. When I run the audyssey calibrator it sets my fronts to 40hz but the little wording at the bottom of the screen says if you have towers, set them to set to full range. I scrolled through and I don't see full range, so should I set the fronts/center to 120hz?
also, how about the rears? what is a good setting for those?
Unless you have a really good set of towers and no subwoofer to go along with them, I would advise against setting them at "Full Range." Even with really good towers that can
dig that low, I would set the crossover to about 60hz minimum if I had a subwoofer.
Same goes for the rears - what your crossover point is really depends on your equipment. If you have small satellite speakers and a subwoofer, setting it to 120hz will work well. If you have bigger speakers with a wider range, you can drop the crossover point.
I have RTi8 towers for fronts, RTi6 bookshelf for surrounds, and RTi4 bookshelf for rears...my crossover point for all them is 80hz ("THX recommended"). I bumped my CSi5 center up to 100hz because it seemed to strain a little.
