Connect Mac Pro to HT

Hello all

I see there are many people connect their PC to their HT for maximum entertainment. I like playing PC games under Win 7 ultimate 64bit, which is installed at my Mac Pro. The question is; how do I connect my Mac Pro 2009 model to my HT? To be mainly used for Windows Gaming.
I have Marantz SR7005 and below is the Pic I took from one of the websites for the Mac Pro

Your opinions!

Use a DVI-HDMI cable to carry the video signal directly to your TV (or to the Marantz if you wish); and an optical cable connected to the Marantz 7005 for the audio signal.

Can any optical cable be good? does it support 5.1 HT or not?

Any regular consumer optical audio cable (the Toslink style) should work. You should be able to get 5.1 sound, though a trip to System Preferences may be necessary to get set up correctly.

Fwiw, I use a mini-Toslink to Toslink cable with my MacBook (the 1/8" headphone jack doubles as an optical output) and have no problems with 5.1 output.
