I found that RGB limited and RGB full input signals give different results in color calibration.

PC/PS3 RGB full
Color:51

PC/PS3/360 RGB limited
Color:57

Also I updated my settings which should be final.

Does anyone have calibration settings for video games on any settings or on any of the game modes?
I'm usin Rizzo's settings listed here:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...0#post20840150

I find these setting great for everything, including ps3 gaming, however I haven't played any online shooters / fighters yet so I can't comment input lag in those instances.

Sorry guys, I will respond to all PM's later tonight. On iPhone app at the moment. Did not realize there was such high demand for my settings :-) I must have received well over 200 PM's since my first post when I advertised sharing them. Glad to hear most people seem to like them.

What are everyone's 3D settings? I haven't touched mine at all - they are still at the default settings.

I've watched a few streaming videos off the internet apps and they looked great - I also watched "How to Train Your Dragon" on Starz On-Demand a couple months ago and it looked great as well. I played Black Ops in 3D last night and I there was some slight cross talk, but not as bad as I've seen it on friends' sets - but I have to admit, I really haven't had the time to tweak the 3D settings yet - so I'm wondering if there is anything that everyone would definitely recommend?

Guys,

I got a 55hx929 paired with a sony S580 BD player with hdmi 1.4 cable. In the S580 options should I set the colorspace to 4:2:2 or 4:4:4? And what about deep color, should I leave it auto? I also have a AMD/ATI based htpc running XBMC hooked up to it and in the Catalyst software there is a option to pick the pixel format (4:4:4, 4:2:2, RGB Limited, RGB Full) What would be your guys recommendation for that?

Also I have a xbox 360 that I only use for games. Should i leave the colorspace to auto or source? I've read on another forum i should use RGB for games. Thoughts on this?

Thanks!

I'm a bit of a newb to TV calibrating and had a question...apologies if this is the wrong place for it as well. I noticed that most of the settings in this thread have most of the Noise Reduction and Enhancer settings set to Off rather than Auto. Is that a matter of personal preference or do those settings really decrease the picture quality if you leave them on?

EDIT: I do have a 55HX929, so my question should be taken as specific to this TV. Thanks.

It seems akadennis settings are very much in demand.. i have 55hx820, would these settings work on hx820 too?
I've gone through the Disney WOW calibrations a few times now and I've ended up right at akadennis' daytime settings with just a few exceptions:
Scene Select - (General)
Picture Mode - (Custom)
Backlight - (3)

My room is fairly bright, both day and night, so that probably accounts for the increased backlight.
What's the purpose of turning SBM off?

Your welcome, glad you like them.

Hi All,

I thought my current KDL-46HX923 tweaking/calibration settings might be useful to others:

https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx...E91BFCAD09!522

I have split the settings down into Standard Viewing Mode and Home Cinema Viewing Mode, each with their own 2D and 3D settings.

The settings are still a bit of a work in progress, but I am pretty happy with them at the moment...when I make any changes, I will create new versions in the above location.

Cheers

JJ

Guys, I have a basic question regarding the picture modes relative to the various settings accessible to the user.

I thought I was being smart cloning my settings under STANDARD to CUSTOM. My thinking was I could then play with the setting at will under CUSTOM without disturbing the Sony package provided under STANDARD. What I observed was the identical settings under CUSTOM did not produce the same picture as they did under STANDARD.

So what I think I learned is the various picture modes, ie Cinema, Standard, Custom, Vivid, etc are a product of more than just the user accessible settings.

Is this true?
